Boardwalk or Beach Club

I've stayed at both and while BC is a nice resort, I prefer BWI (especially for an adults only trip).

If money is no object, I would recommend the Garden cottages at the BWI. Request one of the ones with its own fence and door leading outside. We loved being 10 steps from the quiet pool there where we would relax away from the noise of the main pool.

Right, but 70+ weather is not typical at WDW in January. It can happen, yes, but no one should expect it.
All the pools are heated at WDW during the cooler months. We've been in January and the temps were in the 80's. If you have a car, parking is a bit easier at the BC, especially if you are staying at the BCV.

Basically, it's a preference of a carnival theme or a more sedate summer theme. For me it' is also the incline from the Boardwalk into the International Gateway of Epcot - we could take the boat but it is such a short walk that I don't think about it.

Can't decide between the two. Cost is not a factor. Going in January 2021. Two adults. Any recommendations.
Beach Club with the Yacht Club combined very nice especially with Stormalong Bay. We have been to the Beach Club in December and there were a number of pool days. As a matter of fact, they needed to call more lifeguards to work because of a warm spell. Boardwalk area is within walking distance for other options. Go with the Beach Club. We have stayed there a dozen times.

What should we expect weather wise at December/January time?
It can vary wildly from year to year. One December we went it was 80 and sunny. Best weather we've ever experienced at WDW. Another year it was 40-50 and rainy when we went in Dec.

We have stayed at both as well as the Yacht Club. We just keep going back to BW though. We aren't really pool people so that doesn't really matter to us but Stormalong Bay is awesome if you are a pool person. We just prefer the atmosphere and theme at BW. As far as the restaurants being outside I can understand if it is raining otherwise it is part of the boardwalk atmosphere. Honestly you can't go wrong with either resort.

DH and I stayed at BWV on rented points for our 30th anniversary. We had stayed at BC a couple of times with our kids, and enjoyed it, but liked the Boardwalk for adults only. Grabbed quick breakfast items and coffee in Bellevue Lounge in the morning, and drinks in the evening. A favorite spot.

Both have pros and cons. Beach Club lobby can get crowded and noisy from Cape May Cafe. Boardwalk's lobby is less chaotic. Have you considered Yacht Club? It's my favorite Epcot area resort and would be my pick again out of the three. Beach Club doesn't have a balcony in all rooms, which is a priority for me. Our stay at Boardwalk was in December 2016 (the TR is in my signature). At the time I said it was a one and done, and was sad b/c it was a dream resort for me. It did grow on me, and I would definitely stay there again, but I do prefer Magic Kingdom resorts overall.

For two adults, I would choose Yacht Club or Boardwalk.
