Can't decide between the two. Cost is not a factor. Going in January 2021. Two adults. Any recommendations.

I prefer BC...easier walk in and out of Epcot and the Skyliner Is closer to get to HS than the boat.

i also like that the QS place is inside and you can get to it without having to go outside. It’s nice if it is raining.

We like the detailed, highly themed and pretty rooms of the Boardwalk resort (not referring to the villas, which are decorated differently).

Beach Club resort also has attractive rooms, but the Boardwalk rooms are much more themed, and we love that. BWI's themed resort rooms will probably be gone after the next renovation, so if they appeal to you, stay in them while you still can.

And if you don't like highly themed rooms, stay at Beach Club. They're both great resorts, so you can't lose.

If you are a pool person, and Stormalong Bay is open, then Beachclub hands down. I prefer the BC for the location - heading into Epcot for dinners is quick.

I've never stayed at either, but I've gone back and forth between BC and Poly. I looked at BW but from the pictures I didn't like the theming and that all of the dinning options can only be accessed from the outside. I know that sounds like a petty complaint but I'd rather have something that's within the resort.

BC and Poly are both great resorts. BC you can get to dining without going outside, but all of the Poly is longhouses. You have to walk outside to get to all the food locations. It's a gorgeous walk, though, especially at night when the torches are lit and the Hawaiian music is playing in the background . . . Can't wait to get back there.

The BW clown pool is just weird. We're from NH and will swim as long as there isn't ice on the pool. BC is a lovely resort and less busy. I vote for BC!

Right, but 70+ weather is not typical at WDW in January. It can happen, yes, but no one should expect it.

The last two years the majority of days in January had highs well above the 70s, but my family swims here in in Illinois after Memorial day in May and it's pretty chilly. Pools are open when it's above 68 and you'll see people swimming. We start wearing shorts in the 40s. I kid you not.

This was the weather from this January - there were at least 2-3 days in every week that we'd swim :)

We've been there when it's been freezing when you factor in the wind chill factor. I think El Nino vs. La Nina makes a difference in what kind of winter it is.

This was my thinking as well.

The two resorts are so similar that you're really talking shades of gray difference in quality. Themeing is subjective but if the OP is asking they must not have much of a preference. I think Stormalong Bay would tilt my decision that way even with the risk that we may not use it.

We usually book whichever is cheapest, but, price aside, we prefer Boardwalk for the balconies and quieter atmosphere. At Beach Club, you have about a 50-50 shot at getting a balcony, and the common areas are louder and busier. We also enjoy Boardwalk‘s lovely outside sitting area off the lobby and overlooking the green. As for the pool, we prefer Boardwalk’s. It is easier to keep an eye on your swimmers, and the pool bar is very convenient.

Both are very nice. We stay at BW, BC or YC because of the location. We'll take whatever is available at the best price, sometimes one will be $20 a night cheaper.

I stayed at Boardwalk with my wife and one of my children for our welcome home DVC visit on June 22nd and loved every second being there. Beach Club from my short visit seemed somewhat quieter overall but I could def be wrong about that. Please set me straight if I'm wrong but it was simply the overall energy that I was feeling. Me and my wife are glad to call Boardwalk home especially after visiting every DVC property during our stay. We also did a few days at the Poly as well.

What should we expect weather wise at December/January time?
It can go either way. It could be in the low 70's, or the low 40's. Check the weather forecast the week before your trip, and pack layers.

When we had kids staying with us, BC and YC were our favorites. Now that its just 2 adults, we love Boardwalk. We own DVC there.Walking distance to Hs and EPCOT. Great restaurants close by. We can still do anything we want at BC except the pool (for us not a big deal). For an adult stay, quieter than BC.
Really can't go wrong with either.

We have stayed at both and usually take the room that has the availability and has the better price. We usually stay CL and both are very different.
The walk to EPCOT is closer from the BC, and the walk to the studios is closer from BWI. Both have nice quiet pools and nice restaurants. You really cannot go wrong with either resort.
