Boardwalk or Beach Club

We've always been big Yacht Club fans, as much for the hotel as for the location. However, we are thinking about buying into the DVC and would like to stay in the Epcot Resort area. We've never stayed at the Beach Club or Boardwalk but have visited the lobbies, etc many times.

So the question is, if you had your choice, which would you stay at and why?

Thanks
Ty

As both are great, I would go for the BC (I'm sure you can tell from my screen name):rotfl2:

Here's why: greatest pool on the property (which I'm sure you know if you stayed at the YC), it's quiet, but close to the action (BW can tend to be loud at night), and it's got a great variety of stuff to do and eat at.

I guess the one bonus I can think of about staying at BW is that it's more central than BC, meaning it's a short walk to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, whereas it's a treck from the BC to Hollywood Studios. Overall though, BC is by far my favorite!

While I love both resorts, we are usually partial to the beach club. Great pool, but also beaches and cream cant be beat! Say hi to Art the greeter while you are at BC!:)

I guess it depends on the pool. We chose BWV because the pool didn't wasn't a big deal for us. We seldom ever swim and if my daughter wants to swim, we go to either TL or BB. The BCV is more expensive because of the pool and to us it wasn't worth it.

we own DVC at both BCV & BWV (as well as SSR).
BWV wins, hands down :thumbsup2
we prefer the views at BWVs (we looooooove BW view  ~ sitting on the balcony, sipping coffee, & watching the BW activities in the morn/afternoon, and/or watching illuminations from the balcony in the PM :cloud9:. ). or you can save points with a standard view (both BW & standard views do go very quickly ~ the 11 month advantage really comes into play:thumbsup2 ). all the views at the BWVs are outstanding tho, imho. & we actually like the clown pool better than SAB (yup, there are some ppl who do! lol )
there are so many activities going on the BW itself: street performers, hair braiding, surrey bikes, jellyrolls, etc. btw, except for walking over to EPCOT for dinner, we spend little time in the parks when we're at the BWV ~ it's a vacation destination unto itself, IMHO
BCV is beautiful, but we (DH, my kids, DPs, DB, DSIL, & newphews aged 6 & 9 at the time) greatly prefer BWV. all of us (on different visits) found the BCV's very noisy, SAB very crowded, & lacking worthwhile views ("EPCOT view" was of a road, a lot of tall trees, with an ocassional very high firework:guilty: ). also, there is only one view catagory (the same amt of points as a preferred/BW view, no point-saving standard).

the one thing that bothers some is that the BWVs lack a full counter service location (there is the delicious BW bakery:lovestruc , but it's limited), but that is one of the reasons we like it better :confused3 . we find there is less external traffic thru the resort itself, lending to a more elegant atmosphere (fun, but still elegant). there are also other food options: pizza window, spoodles (excellent food), ESPN, big river grille, as well as a few different goodies

btw, the YC is our favorite non-DVC resort (over the BC):thumbsup2
you might want to consider posting your question on the DVC misc board tho.

No contest. Beach Club Villas. Yep, I'm an OKWer, but love BCV as a second place to stay. (Bought DVC before BCV).

The walk to the room is one thing. We hated the lugging of everything from the BW parking lot to our room. It seemed like miles and miles. Then, when we got to the room, the key didn't work. Had to hike back down to the main desk (with a two year old) and start all over again.

Found it too noisey for the little one at night. We were right over the boardwalk and it kept him (and all of us) awake.

Really don't like the no restaurant issue. We really dislike the clown pool! :scared:

Have had far better service from BC/V staff than BW staff everytime we've stayed at BC or BCV.

We far prefer the location of the BC. It's closer to EPCOT, and has a more resort feel to it.

That's the beauty of Disney! Something for everyone!
