TRYING TO DECIDE WHICH ONE.WHICH IS MORE KID FRIENDLY . SON IS 8 DAUGHTER IS 5 . PLEASE HELP.

I have stayed at both, and I can honestly say they are equally as kid friendly. Sorry that's not much help. But at least you know you can't go wrong with either choice.

I've never stayed at either, but I taped the YC/BC episode of Great Hotels on the travel channel and the Beach club looks amazing!!!! Totally kid friendly!!!! I would stay there (make sure to request a full balcony) and make a PS for the character breakfast at Cape May Cafe. I would do this on your Epcot day, since Epcot doesn't open until 10am. Stormalong Bay is also a big hit with the kids!

We have not stayed at the Boardwalk but have stayed at both the YC and the BC and LOVE them. Our kids (now 5 and 4) love the pool there. It is very kid friendly. The big kid waterslide would be GREAT for an 8 year old boy and for you for that matter. They also have a smaller kid's pool with a smaller waterslide that my DD's love and is a lot less intimidating than the big slide in Stormalong Bay. There are also sandy areas to scoop sand, and many fun areas to float around in a tube.

YC and BC are just a great place to stay with young kids, particularly if they like to swim! :)

Pool at YC/BC is MUCH more impressive than that of the BW. Not certain precisely why but unless I wanted a Villa or was a DVC member, I'd stay at YC/BC instead any time. I like that the YC/BC is a little bit removed from the action of the Boardwalk area. I love the theming of these two hotels, the pools, the restaurants. And you still have easy access to all the fun stuff on the Boardwalk.

we've stayed at both...
my kids won't go back to the boardwalk as they can't stand the pool...
nothing can compare to stormalong bay...
and the kiddie area of stormalong bay is great....

I just went through the same dilemma ... trying to weigh the pro's and con's of both resorts.

Since the rooms are pretty much identical, and both are located on the boardwalk, I focused in on the pool because that's what my kids would care about most when we want to unwind after touring the parks.

I discovered that the pool at the BW is over on the Villas side, so if you've got a room at the Inn, it will be a long trek over to the pool area. It's also much smaller, but shared by two hotels.

The "pool" (Stormalong Bay) at YC/BC is also shared by these two resorts but is considerably larger, more like a water-park, which will be a huge hit with the kids. There is a big waterslide but also a smaller one for younger kids.

If you can't get into BC, I would still try YC over BW.

BWI every time. My kids hate the pool at BC - the sand at the bottom really irritates them and it was always so crowded. We have totally fallen in love with the BWI. My kids are 10 and 12 but were 6 and 8 when we stayed at the BC.

:D Beach Club!! I always travel off season so the pool is never crowded. I prefer sand on the bottom of the pool. I tend to be very picky about public pools and the sand makes it feel cleaner!!
