We were planing on taking a walk on our first night of arrival and maybe grab something to eat, by counter service or quick restaurant type. Myself dh, ds and dd both 4 yrs old and df would like to maybe shop around have a quick bite and maybe an ice cream for dessert, what do you all suggest???? Boardwalk or Beach club and please state why. Thanks in advance :cheer2:

I would go with Beaches and Cream at Y & B Club....awesome burgers and GREAT ice cream treats!!! :thumbsup2

I agree .. Beaches and Cream! unless you are big sports fans then I say ESPN Club on the Boardwalk.

Beaches and Cream is great. We also stopped by The Dolphin Fountain (?) at the Dolphin and had a great sandwich and ice cream.

Hands down.................The Marketplace at the BC!!!! They have wonderful sandwiches and salads not to mention the 'to die for' gelatto. There are several 'community halls' to sit down and eat. It's all out of the crowds, hustle and bustle too. I'm sure, depending on the time, you could even grab at seat by Stormalong Bay and eat.

You mentioned the word "quick"- B&C is not quick- even if you get seated right away. For quick (assuming the weather is nice) go to the Boardwalk and order a slice or two from the Spoodles window and eat outside and people-watch while you eat. Then walk into the Boardwalk Bakery and grab a dessert or head down the way to a place (don't know the name) where they sell ice cream.

B & C is a table service restaurant. We grabbed sandwiches from the BW Marketplace and ate by the pool. The sandwiches are very good. They are strict about visitors around Stormalong Bay, so you might not be able to sit there unless that's where you're staying. You can get ice cream items to go from B & C and the wait wasn't bad at all. Around by the Boardwalk, we didn't care for the pizza from the Spoodles window. Way to much tomato sauce for us. There is a corn dog/hot dog stand, but it wasn't anything special either. The Boardwalk Bakery also sells sandwiches and other desserts that are really good. Seashore Sweets is where you can also get ice cream treats. Your kids will also enjoy the entertainment on the Boardwalk as well.

You actually have 2 choices at Beaches & Cream. There is the table service (sit down) part and there is the carry out window. You can grab something from the carry out and eat at any of the many tables/chairs in the area.

The carry out is not included on DDE or DDP.

And the carry out is now ice cream treats only. For food you have to go to either the BC Marketplace or Hurricane Hanna's.

Going along with everyone B&C.
Wow ! thank you very much for all of your advice everyone  One last question which of the two has more family/kids atmosphere and shops to purchase nice souvenirs and out of the two is more leniant of visitors :grouphug:

Another quick question, when you enter a resort that you do not have ressies, do they let you go in or what should I do? :listen:

I would say Boardwalk. I think the kids would enjoy it more. How fun is it going to be for the kids to sit and look at SAB and not be able to go in? The store at BW is easier to find, there are games, pizza (great sangria if you like that kind of thing), hot dogs, a candy store, an ice cream shop, a bakery, coffee/kiosk stand, ESPN if you want to sit down and grab a burger and more shopping and an arcade in there. You can still stroll over or take the boat to BC too. And no you do not need to do anything at either resort to stroll around.

Oh, I agree! My mouth is watering for that gelato now! I'll take any flavor, but I'm partial to pistachio.

On my DW's first trip to the area, we stayed at the Swan. We were there for a Convention and were not able to go to any of the parks. But while we were there, we took a late night stroll through the BC. We walked along the beach and looked at the pool and even walked up to the back gate over at EPCOT. Since I had been many times before, I was able to tell her what she was looking at. It was a very romantic night for us.

Last year, we took our DS on a solo trip. While we were there, we went over to Boardwalk one night. We looked around and tried to find a place to eat but didn't see anything that really grabbed us. But my DW had the memory of a lifetime when we walked up to the magician on the boardwalk. He was very good at his slight of hand tricks but what got her was the corny jokes. She couldn't stop laughing. She had to walk away long enough to catch her breathe. If you ask her which was her favorite, I am sure that she will say Boardwalk.
