@ Boardwalk now - check in problems

We too have had less than "magical" experiences while checking in at
BWV. We love that resort, and you know that feeling you have as you are walking in the doors to check in and start your wonderful vacation? Well, I must say that 3 out of 5 times that we have stayed there, we have walked away from the check in counter saying "huh......this wasn't how I envisioned the start of our vacation"! Nothing major - no major screw ups, just not very friendly CM's and long waits. We were just there in May, and I can't remember her name, but I can see her face right now and I just felt like saying to her "you have to at least PRETEND to like your job"!!!! I went down the day after check in to see about a reservation at the consierge desk, and.....guess who was staffing it??? Same girl from check in - same short, curt attitude! Didn't let it ruin my day, but it's just not what we have come to expect from Disney staffers. Perhaps BWV should be a short stint and then you get moved to another resort for these CM's. The constantly being full to capacity might wear on you after a while!:confused3

I have to say that in 30+ DVC stays at every resort other than THV & BLT (haven't gotten there yet), I've never had a bad check in or a rude CM. The CM's have been pleasant, courtious and given me the necessary information. Long wait times is not really the CM's fault. Some months are busier than others, I'm sure if everyone arrives at peak times it will cause delays but it's not their fault.

The CM's I've encountered have met my expectations, I hope I'm not in the minority here!

I'm with you, including at the BWV. We checked in for 1 night on June 26...there were at least 3 CM's behind the check in counters. It was around 2PM. Now, our room wasn't ready until after 4:30, but we were compensated for that...no request by us, it was offered and accepted!:goodvibes

Sometimes when we checked into BWV we've been asked if we liked our previous location. We usually say "yes" because we're usually sv, middle of the hall on the 2nd or 3rd floor, and that works for us.

Once we had checked our bags for the flight home at BWV, only to find we left our park passes in the suitcase and it was too late to do anything. A CM noticed our distress, and asked what was wrong, and gave us a day pass to the animal kingdom where we had wanted to go that day.

I know "bad things" do happen, and I'm sorry that the OP had the bad experience at BWV.

We must be covered in Pixie Dust too :)!! We have never had a bad experience or a long wait. The rooms, however, are usually not ready. Last time we returned at 4:00 and when the room was still not ready we were given a $50.00 comp for dinner. We ate at The Big River Grille and got our room soon after. We also go off season. I have never seen just one person at the check in desk even when the crowds are much lower.

With 3 or 4 WDW vacations per year and several split stays, we average 6 to 8 check ins each year. Staying at all of the WDW DVC resorts, our rooms are seldom ready before 4:00 PM, and we are notified about 50% of the time.

We find the same types of problems as the OP at all of the resorts, not just BWV. Disney has been cutting back on staff and has put the CM's on a rotating schedule. We see the same CM's at different resorts.

The Cast Members are our contracted employees and if there is a problem, it is our duty to notify Management and the DVC Satisfaction Team.
