I read on the boardwalk info page that you can refill your mugs at the belle vue lounge but the info is from 2002 so I was wondering if it's still true.
I know the Boardwalk bakery fills them. Actually you show the mug and they give you the beverage in a separate cup hygienic reasons. We had a heck of a time using our DDP credits or fill our mugs at Boarwalk. I even called the front desk and Disney dining and got wrong information. We didn't try Belle vue lounge as I didn't think they took the mugs. But the bakery did this last week. HTH
I would SERIOUSLY weigh your options of buying the refillable mugs at BWI/BWV. VERY inconvienient. There is no place to walk up and refill. The Boardwalk Bakery will refill but you basically have to carry the dang things around to show them you have one and then they give you another cup with your drink. Same thing at the pool. Very inconvient. Never a place to just run down and get a hot cup of tea or hot chocolate. My friend was just there this past week and had horrible time with the refillable mugs and the dining credits were a waste. She couldn't use the Counter service for anything other than the bakery which only served panni sandwiches and a ceasar salad. Forget getting anything for the kids. They did have a kiosk on the boardwalk with Chicken nuggets and stuff for the kids but they didn't take the dining plan. Spoodles no longer takes counter service credits for the takeout pizza. And the bakery will only let you convert your counter service for one snack and two drinks. You aren't allowed two snacks and one drink or just three snacks. ON a positive note when my friend was basically crying after learning that she was stuck with 8 CS credits and like 12 snacks the concierge manager walked her down to the general store and she was able to buy snacks like the Goofy candy or Goofy pretzels. But all in all I would seriously reconsider buying a DDP or Refillable mug at BW. Just my opinion.
I would just make sure you use your counter services as the parks. We stayed at the GF and they have a great little food court type thing and we ate breakfast with a counter service each day. But my friend couldn't do that at Boardwalk, so she had to go eat at the parks. She just didn't manage them well since she had three kids and when they came back to rest or go to the pool they couldn't use their points for a quick bite to eat. I hope it works out better for you. Have a great trip!
We were at the Boardwalk in July and did not get the mugs. It would have too big of a pain to get drinks there. There is just not a convenient area for refilling, at all. Plus, the size of the Boardwalk just makes it difficult. By the time you walk to the Bakery, get your drink, and walk back to the room, the drink's gone. My one major gripe about the Boardwalk is no centralized "food court" type place.
