Help not sure how to choose between Boardwalk Inn, Yacht Club or beach Club. Just me and Hubby for 3 nights Pre Xmas 2005. Has anyone got any views?

For an adult vacation the BWI would absolutely be the best choice. IMHO the staff is better, and there are less children than at the BC/YC. Do miss cocktails in the Bellevue Room, and Jellyrolls is a hoot. We love the location, so close to Epcot so you can just wander in and out.

The BWI is my favorite place to stay. My husband and I go every Oct., kids are grown and gone! I also go in the Spring for a girls only trip and we always stay at the BW.

The Beach Club is an excellent resort, with wonderful staff. They seem to go out of their way there in anticipating one's needs.

There are restaurants within the hotel, which is an important factor for me.

I enjoy Martha's Vineyard, and the stroll to the Crew's Cup Lounge.

I like the proximity of Beaches and Cream, as well as the Yachtsman's Steakhouse and Yachtclub Galley.

The atmosphere is soothing, and the decor is bright and cheerful.

It is the closest resort to EPCOT, with the park being a mere five minute walk.

The main pool is the most elaborate on property, and one of the largest you'll find anywhere.

I'm not going to bash the Boardwalk Inn and Villas, but it is definitely not in the same league as the Beach Club. The Stephen King themed pool is just for starters. Not having a restaurant within the resort is a real annoyance to me, and the loudness of the boardwalk itself is a major drawback. The staff there are poorly trained in comparision to the other deluxe resorts. At least they behave as though they are.

So, for me, the Beach Club wins hands down. Others will clearly have different opinions.

The Boarwalk gets my vote!

I vote for the Boardwalk! We had superb service and you can't beat the night life. We take our kids (2 and 4) and they love it too. They thought the pool was really fun, like a circus. We got ice cream every night and hung out to watch all of the Boardwalk action. We had a Boardwalk veiw last year and it didn't disturb any of our sleep. This is a wonderful resort. Good luck with your choice, it's a tough one! :D

The BWI is wonderful - especially the CMs. I've never encountered friendlier CMs at any WDW resort.

Absolutely BWI, this is such a great resort with great CMs. We've tried others, but none come close! Good luck on your decision.

Thank you everyone for your input, we have decided on the Boardwalk Inn, we like to eat at different resorts and in the parks so not having a restaurant on site is not a big problem to us. I've now read several reviews and seen some pictures and I'm sold. Now to decide what view to ask for I'd love to be able to see the fireworks at Epcot from our room. Any ideas?
Thanks again
Lynn

I wonder if someone can answer this:

Are the 2-story garden rooms automatically concierge?

Another question:

Do any of the 2-story garden rooms come with 2 queens v. a king?

Thanks! :D

I know you have already decided, however, I will give you my opinion anyway. Definately Beach Club. I have stayed at all three, and hands down like the Beach Club the best. The pool at the BC is the best on Disney property. It meanders from the BC to the YC, 2/3 of it is a sand bottom, lot's of chairs and hidden hot tubs, tree's all around, it is beautiful. I believe they also have another pool that is virtually empty all the time and is also very relaxing. Pools at the BWI are lame. I also like the lobby and decor of the BC and the staff is wonderfull. One thing to think about is that you can enjoy the emenities at the Boardwalk without staying there, you cannot with the BC. We walked to the Boardwalk a few nights and ate at their restaraunts and hung out there, it was great, but if it is raining some evening, the BC and YC resaraunts are right there. Beaches and Creme is great, Yachtsman Steakhouse is a must, and the Cape May Cafe has an excellant breakfast and dinner buffet. For romance, at the BC they have a beautiful beach with chairs and swings that you can enjoy on nice evenings, to take a nice romantic stroll at the BWI, that would be impossible. They are all very close, my vote is for the Beach Club.

The Garden Suites are concierge, but you have walk a little ways outside to get to the lounge, which is on the fourth floor. The ones we've been in have all had King beds.

I see you've already decided, but since these threads seem to exist forever, I'll add a vote for the BWI; second best resort at WDW in my opinion, and best in the boardwalk area.

If pool is on your top 3 in terms of priorities, then you have to give some consideration to BC or YC. But otherwise, I have never really understood the pull of these resorts. I guess it all depends on your frame of mind at the time, but our stay at the BC a couple of years ago was the worst we've had at any WDW resort. Many many many disagree with me on this, I realize, but since you asked . . . ;0)

Thanks again everyone
We do like swimming but found it has been alittle cool for a lengthy stay in the pools on our last two xmas visits. So as much as the Beach Club's pool sounds good we'll stick with our choice.............unless anyone can persuade us otherwise LOL!

I agree with ducklite.:D

We have stayed at BWI twice and can't find anything bad to say about it. We had two lovely stays there, very nice CMs. My children love the pool and slide.

The first time we were planning a stay there I almost changed to another resort because of the posts I read about "no restaurants in the resort" and how bad it was to walk out on the BW to eat. Thank goodness we didn't listen to that! The concept is that the BW is part of the resort, it is like an outdoor lobby! We probably had a shorter walk to Spoodles and BW Bakery than most folks at BC do to Cape Mayand B&C!

The only facility you can't use at BC if you stay at BWI is SAB. We have used the Sandcastle Club and eaten at several restaurants over there.

Having said all that, now that my kids are older (DDwill be a teenager next trip! ) they want to stay at YC so we can use SAB. I hope we won't miss BWI too much!
