Ok, I've gone and done something looney! DH and I are going next month for a quick (budget) trip. The plan was to stay at PC again (budget trip and DH request) But since the 2 of us NEVER get away, I thought I'd surprise him. So I've booked the first night of our stay at BWI. Then we move to PC  . So since this is our first stay at BWI is there anything we should know? I hate that we won't be staying longer, but we are returning in Feb. so maybe then.

You might want to reverse things and have the stay at BWI the last night. Trade up, not down...

Enjoy!

If you've been to the PC before and love it, I would say it doesn't matter which order you do it in. I love the BWI but also love the CBR so going from the BWI to the CBR isn't a let down for me and we will be doing it this December. As far as staying at the BWI is concerned, I would definitely put in a room request to be on the Boardwalk side, a view of Epcot if possible. Seeing Epcot lit up at night is such a treat. There are lots of places to eat along the Boardwalk and strolling around into Epcot when the lights are on is heaven. Since it is such a special treat I would make a PS for either the Flying Fish or one of your favorite Epcot restaurants that evening. Hopefully you'll be able to catch some of the performers on the Boardwalk. It is a wonderful hotel and a great all around experience. Have a ball.

I would reverse the order, I never would want to leave a deluxe to go stay at a value. Go and enjoy your stay at Pop then pack everything up, call the bell services the night before you will be moving to BWI...have them move your bags while you and DH are at one of the parks, then tell him you want to check out the Boardwalk...then walk over to check-in and tell him "Oh, by the way we're staying here tonight."

Use those days at MGM and Epcot, and enjoy the atmosphere at World Showcase. We ate at Alfredo's and it was wonderful. Pastries in the french bakery are also the best.

Swan/Dolphin has a special right now for $139/night from allearsnet.com. Maybe you could stay there your second night instead of POP, more $$ than POP but still cheaper than BW and much closer.

Thanks for all the input. I would love to reverse the order, but it just doesn't work for this trip. We have an early flight out on Sunday and I don't want to pay the extra $$ to only have to get up early and leave. I figured if we stay there the first night, then we'll have all evening and whatever time we want on the next day to check out the resort. "Budget Trip" should've also included "Short Trip" We only have 3 nights this time. But we'll be back in Feb for 10 more nights. Already thinking about surprising the kids w/ a stay for the last couple of nights of that trip.

Franw - we have stayed at PC before and enjoyed it very much. The rest of the family has already chose to stay there in Feb. I was out voted, but I'm still going to get my Deluxe stay in there at some point.
