I'm thinking about staying at the Boardwalk Inn in late June. Can anyone tell me if there are usually discounts to this resort at this time?
Also, if anyone has any opinions on this resort (good or bad ) I would really appreciate it.:D

Hi-
We happen to love the Boardwalk Inn! It is our favorite resort because the rooms are beautiful and spacious, we love the theming, and the area is alive with things to do and see. Right outside the hotel is the Boardwalk, where there are restaurants to choose from and nightly entertainment. My husband and son loved ESPN Zone to eat at, and one night we met a NFL coach there during their little sports show they tape. Sometimes there are street performers -- we saw a man on stilts, a man juggling, and one night a man was doing an act like a snake-oil salesman. There are the surrey bikes to rent and ride around the lake and look at the other resorts, like YC, BC, Dolphin, Swan. You are a short walk to the back gate of Epcot -- who can beat that! Or you can take a leisurely boat ride to MGM. While we were there, we only took the bus once -- to DTD. The wait was ok. There is a large pool with a slide designed to look like a wooden roller coaster, where you slide out through a clown's mouth -- our kids loved it! (Of course, if you are looking for the best pool, I would have to recommend the Yacht/Beach Club with their storm-a-long bay.) But the pool at the Boardwalk is fun too.

As far as discounts, well, we are lucky to always go with a Florida Resident discount. But this information below I got from MouseSavers.com This will tell you the seasons for the Deluxe resorts. It looks like you will be traveling during regular season. That is not as expensive as peak season, but not as good as value. I suggest going to the MouseSavers site and looking around. They have all the current discount information. Have a wonderful time! We will be there in July! I can't wait!

HE is the Ejapana man.... my family loved him. By the end of our week at the BWI my kids would start running down the BW when they heard or saw him. One time he threw a stuffed racoon thing at DS and scared the heck out of him (in a funny way)!:p

We really enjoyed the BWI. THe staff was very helpful and friendly. The inn was so pretty and we had a wonderful time. Some people are put off by the resturants being on the BW as opposed to in the lobby area but we just thought of the BW as our lobby. Didn't bother us one bit. Great pool too!

Not sure about discounts then as I have only been to WDW in Jan, Feb and April.

Boardwalk Inn -

Hi kathy87,
We have had the good fortune to have stayed here three times and have loved every last minute of each visit. Last July we were able to take advantage of tthe FTP (7nights for the price of 4). Each stay we have paid the extra for a waterview as we enjoy the balcony from which we can watch the activity below and the boats on the lake. We have been on the higher floors and noise is not a problem.
As has been said, the best about the BWI is the location - four other resorts spread around Crescent Lake; many, many dining options; a walk or relaxing boatride to either Epcot or MGM. The pool bar is also neat as is the pool itself. If you enjoy a nightcap try the Bellvue Lounge just off the Lobby in the Inn. Have a great and magical vacation!! Peg and Bob

Thank you for the replies on th BI. I am an AP holder so hopefully I will be able to get a decent price!:Pinkbounc

You will love the BWI! It is wonderful and the service is fantastic. I can't say enough about this resort - we stayed here this past December after defecting from the GF where we'd stayed eight times in seven years. We will never go back to the GF.

Last year there were AP discounts available for June, so perhaps there will be this year also. Usually an AP rate is available in the summer and I don't see why this year would be any different (hopefully). If you have any other questions, I'd be happy to answer them for you!:D
