Boardwalk Inn vs. Yacht Club

I know there was a thread a few months ago on this subject, but was wondering if there were any new opinions on this. The main reason in chosing either is proximity to EPCOT. Pools are not that important to us - but nice grounds/landscaping is. I think I'm interested in which one has the best overall 'feel' - one that would be relaxing yet beautiful. It would be me and my wife, and our 19 yr old daughter.

I would choose Boardwalk. Has a more grown-up feel and the Boardwalk is so pretty, especially at night.

I would choose yc mostly for the pool you can always visit bw with a short relaxing walk

Since pools are not important to you, I would say go with Boardwalk because of the atmosphere and grounds. (And this is coming from a YC/BC person)

I also choose BWI over YC. I've stayed at both.

Boardwalk for sure, I have stayed at both and much prefer the Boardwalk for overall atmosphere and theming. It's our favorite resort.

We like BW, we stayed at YC once a long time ago but it hasn't changed much.

BW is last boat stop for Epcot and first one coming back so it's a really short boat ride. Of course, that also means it is the opposite for DHS and it's the longest. YC is the middle stop in each direction.

The walk from the boat launch to the lobby is about 1/5 the distance vs. YC.

Boardwalk has much more to do, there's the Bakery, Candy/Sweets Shop, a few stores, plus bars and restaurants. The games are pretty small and expensive. We love being able to sit out on the Boardwalk with a Red Rocket Ale at Big River Grille in the evening. At YC, there's some benches outside the lobby and along the water, but not much else besides Beaches & Cream.

The atmosphere is great at Boardwalk. You feel like you're "somewhere" and not just a hotel.

Overall, BW wins for us, by a longshot!!

I've stayed at both BWI and YC on numerous occasions (and am going back to BWI in 50 days - woo hoo!). They are both great resorts, but I prefer YC over BWI.

I rarely take the boat to either resort. If you are walking, the resorts are about equidistant from Epcot, but BWI is significantly closer to DHS.

The Boardwalk itself is great and, obviously, very convenient to BWI. But, it's only a very short walk from YC (just across the lagoon), so that's not a significant reason to favor one over the other.

YC tends to be a somewhat quieter resort than BWI - both in the lobby and on the grounds. They both have quiet (non-themed) pools which don't get a lot of use, so are really quite relaxing.

In the end, they are both great resorts and you can't go wrong, whichever one you pick.

We've chosen BW over YC for our Epcot resort stays. I remember reading some time ago that the chances of getting a room with no balcony at BW is almost nil, while there are several YC rooms with no balcony or a standing only balcony. We actually do spend time in the morning or evening on the balcony, so that was a factor in our decision.

Stayed at both and would choose Boardwalk. Theme is more fun. Closer to DHS. Easier to get around. Better service.

YC has all full balconies. It's the Beach Club with some standing room only balconies.

We stayed at the BW last weekend and I would highly recommend it (BC is our favorite resort but we love the BW more and more each time we stay there). I like the theming of the BW better than the YC.
