My mom and I are taking a trip do Disney and will be staying at the Boardwalk Inn. How long does it take by bus from BI to DTD approx?

The actual trip is probably 10-15 minutes. Waiting for the bus could be as long as 20 minutes.

Bus service to/from DTD and any resort is always pretty slow.

Bus service from DTD to BWI is very slow. Depending on where you get on the bus at DTD there may be another stop there, then depending on the time they may stop at a water park, then the bus goes to Swan, then Dolphin, then YC, then BC before BWI. I just get off at the Swan and walk back to BWI-it isn't too far and MUCH quicker.

Thank you. I'm not worried about the trip back, just getting there for dinner reservations. We may eat one night at the Swan, how far of a walk is it and/or what transportation takes you there?

Very close-about a 5 minute walk. You could take the DHS boat from BWI to Swan but it would be quicker to walk as the boat goes to YC/BC after BWI before going to Swan/Dolphin then DHS.

For your DTD dinner I would allow at least and hour for bus service. An hour and a half would be better. If you get fast service you can always browse some shops before dinner.

Honestly if you want to make it on time for any ADR's you have at Downtown Disney I would highly recommend taking a Taxi, because the buses which go there always seem to take forever and are a lot slower from the Deluxe Resorts.

I wanted to take the bus simply because it didn't cost and I'm on a budget, but we like eating at DTD and shopping. When I stayed at WL I got the bus to DTD every night and it only took 20 minutes max, I know BI is farther away, so I guess I'll just take the advice of others and give myself at least 1 hour before reservations.

Actually the Boardwalk is closer to Downtown Disney then any of the Magic Kingdom Resorts. However I do agree it's best to give yourself 1 hour getting there when using the buses to be on the safe side.

... because BW is usually the last stop of the 5 Epcot resorts, and at dinner time, buses to DTD may fill up before they reach the BW.

Does anyone know how much a taxi to DTD costs? I would take the bus back. We are dining there 3 different nights.

I would imagine a cab would be less than $15...DTD is about a 10 min ride by car...if that...from BW. I was actually quite astounded when I drove from BW to DTD and saw how close it really is!!!
If taking the bus, plan on an hour. You may very well get lucky and get right on a DTD bus, but you may have to wait up to 20 mins. It just all depends on how much time you want to allot...if it's not big deal, then go with the bus.

Thanks. I think for the two days we'll be in the park we'll opt for the taxi just so we can stay longer in the park and not hurry back to wait for a bus and hope we get to DTD on time for reservations.
