Hello, I am infested in staying at Boardwalk next Sept. F&W will more than likely be occurring at this time (I am not going to F&W). I’m a little worried the hotel (will be staying at DVC) will be too packed during this time. Any advice/experience anyone could give would be great. Thanks.

I agree with @Lynne M I don’t know what you mean by overcrowded. All DVC Resorts run near 100% capacity. They are designed to. But we have always loved our stays

Disney has been running at high, often full, capacity for quite some times. There really aren't any "slow" times anymore. Basically if you are staying at ANY Disney resort, you are going to find all, or nearly all, of the rooms occupied. Disney is very good at filling rooms, and any last-minute unfilled rooms get snatched up quickly on a 3rd party platform like Priceline, especially if discounts are involved. The 'popular' times (like F&W at Epcot resorts) fill up earlier, but even the 'unpopular' times are pretty full by the time their dates come around.

We stayed at the Boardwalk during October last year and did not find it too crowded or overrun with people. Hardly anyone was at the continental breakfast at the Bellevue lounge in the morning, long line at the bakery outside but that is typical.

The Epcot resorts, including BWI run at full capacity most of the year. You don’t have to worry about September crowds. :)

We have stayed at BWV several times during F&W and the summer months when the resort is full.

To us it's never that "crowded". The buses are not too full, the pool is not too crowded, the lines for the eateries are not too long.

It's such a joy to be able to walk to EPCOT in 5min that we can't stay anywhere else :)

F&W is very popular with DVC members so the BWVillas fill up quickly. The Inn side also fills up with guests booking that location so they are a quick walk to the festival at Epcot.

I wouldn't call it overcrowded at all. We were there BCV from 10/9-16/18 and we had the leisure pool to ourselves most afternoons. I really mean to ourselves. Later in the week, there would be a few other folks hanging out in the afternoon, but never more than six or so. We strolled over to the clown pool for adult beverages and were always able to grab an umbrella table just in front of the bar--loads of chairs available. The lobby was never overly busy and the buses were full, but not ridiculously so. Further, one morning we had 2 buses to MK and 2 to AK show up at once just after one of each had left--cleared those waiting right out. Finally, we didn't share buses to AK or MK, coming or going.

So, nope, I wouldn't say our stay was overly crowded at all. This was also Columbus Day weekend and Gartner ITXPO began as well.

We stayed at the Boardwalk Villas September 15 - 21. All of the EPCOT resorts were full. The parks and ride wait times were pretty short with the exceptions of 7DMT, SDD, and FOP. F&W wasn’t even too crowded most of the time. The resort and the Boardwalk did not ever seem to be crowded. The only exception to this was the night that we were waiting for Luminations to start st EPCOT. Just before the show was to start, the skies opened up and it started raining VERY hard. There was a mass exodus of people trying to make it out the Inteenational Gateway and back to the resorts. There were literally thousands of people trying to get out at the same time.

Just completed a stay at BWI during F&W. It didn't feel crowded at all. Empty seats at the feature pool every time we went. The quiet pool was normally just us or us and one other family.

Which quiet pool? The one on the BWI side or the one on the Villas side?

It won't be a zoo. We stayed there in 2016 over the last weekend of F&W and it did not seem crowded (nor did the Boardwalk itself) at all.

Just returned. Boardwalk resort did not feel crowded. Avoid the front by the portico Saturday night. Hundreds of Uber’s coming to pick up people departing from food and wine. It was nice to just walk to the boardwalk. The parks were another matter. We found studios crazy around the toy story area. It was hot (little to no shade except for a few umbrellas waiting for slinky dog ride) and the walkway into the area congested since it’s it Rather narrow in my opinion. We got out as quick as we could. MK crazy on the non party days we went. We will go on party days in the future and gladly leave before 6 pm. Epcot weekend evenings for Food and wine were crazy congested too. Week days a bit better but bad around the American pavilion with people waiting to get in for the musical groups. We liked going to food and wine before they opened at 11. Some opened early.
