It's almost here. My sweetie and I will be staying at the BWI, unfortunately for only a short time. A 4 day weekend starting on the 30th of April. Any recommendations, warnings, ideas? I want to make sure she enjoys herself. It's her first time at DW and she doesn't even know which resort yet.
I would be interested in hearing any ideas to make her stay as happy and eventful as possible. The cost isn't the important thing, her happiness is.

Have a wonderful trip, we stayed at the boardwalk and found it to be very romantic, evening walks on the boardwalk, boat trips etc and great restaurants, whatever you do it will be lovely.

We loved our stays at the BWI. Had a room that viewed the firework show in Epcot . It had a nice balcony that looked down on a quiet garden . The bakery on the Boardwak had wonderful pasteries. If you like ice cream sundays walk over to Beaches and Cream at the BC & YC. The hotel is very quiet inside yet you walk outside and the Boardwak has people, a rolling piano player, bicycles to rent, just alot of things going on . We love Epcot so found it so wonderful being a short walk away.

Have a wonderful trip! This is our favorite place to stay. One really fun thing to do is go to Jelly Rolls dueling piano bar. It's not exactly romantic; but it is a heck of a lot of fun! Another fun thing is to rent a surrey bike and ride around Crescent Lake! Have fun!!!!!:D :D :D

retMarine--Welcome to the DIS!

Jellyrolls is definitely a blast. It's one of my favorite places. FYI, I will be there with a few other DISers on April 30 (and probably May 1 as well). If you and your sweetie would like to share your romantic getaway with a fun bunch of strangers, you're welcome to join us.

I've never been there, but I hear that Spoodles is excellent for dinner. I love getting something sweet for breakfast at the Boardwalk bakery in the morning.

Have a great stay!

Eljojo--Kids are not allowed in Jellyrolls. It's 21 plus.

Try a breakfast at Spoodles.
The food is great (we especially LOVE their breakfast pizza) and it is a really nice quiet way to start the day.
Have a wonderful trip!!!!!

Yes, breakfast at Spoodles! :p

Rent a surrey bike (if you're up to it), it was fun, laughed my you know what off!

Go to Leaping Horse Libations (pool bar), have a margarhita or corona and soak up the atmosphere. The barkeeps are really nice there.

Sit on a rocker on the veranda.

Stroll the BW at night, great atmosphere.

Stoll the World Showcase at night.... several nights. That is the best atmosphere IMHO!

BWI is a lovely resort, I'm sure you will enjoy your stay. :sunny:

Thanks to everyone for your replies. We will probably take in dinner at Spoodles as you recommended. So if you happen to see a not so lean retired Marine with a full head of pretty grey hair, and a cute blonde with very short hair, stop by and say hello. Hope to see you there.
