boardwalk inn help

I just booked the boardwalk standard room for 7 nights, nov 14th with email code($199) just wanted some thoughts as to what may be a good room to ask( hope) for. Any other helpful info would be appreciated. It will be myself,DH, 2 DSs(4,6) and DD(7).
Also, If I get a ps for breakfast at magic kingdom at 805am and the park doesnt open till 9am, what is the best way to get there.

Also, are there a lot of activities for the kids on the boardwalk. We've never been there before.
