Boardwalk Inn - A good room?

We leave in a little less than a month and my husband and are staying at the Boardwalk Inn for the first time. We booked the FTP standard view, but we are thinking about asking for available upgrades (we are willing to pay for this) but we wanted to know if anyone has stayed there and what your thoughts are? Is the conceirge level worth the extra money? Is there a standard room that would have a good view?

Any ideas?

Some of the standard views facing the courtyard have a partial view of Epcot. Try to avoid the ones facing the front driveway. We had one for one night last year, we faced the walkway to the bus stop, people we constantly walking by.

We stayed concierge when we went. They offer a nice lounge from where you can see illuminations at night or just relax. There are also mini-meals throughout the day. There is almost something available, depending on what time you come. A nice continental breakfast, finger foods at lunchtime, desserts and cordials in the evening--heck, you could probably just eat there the whole time. It is very pricey though, but if money is no object, I would definitely check it out. We were lucky. It was a gift. I don't think I would pay the rate myself, but it is very nice if you can afford it.

Last November we were in 4298. We booked standard and believe that room is standard level but had a view into the courtyard and EPCOT. It's close to the elevator and had a regular size (mini table/2 chairs) balcony. Really nice room.

Sharon, that sounds like exactly like the room we would like to have. We have booked a standard view and I requested a balcony with Epcot view. I hope we get it!
