Hi everyone.

Last year we didnt go to disneys boardwalk and we were just wondering if there is much there and what it is like?

Does anyone know anything about it?

We love the Boardwal - either during the day or at night - there are places to eat. places to sit - it really is a lovely place to chill out in

It's one of our must dos and a favourite place to spend at least one evening.

There are street entertainers, shops, bars and restaurants, and you can take a boat trip around the nearby resorts (Y&BC, BW and of course over to Epcot)on the lake.

If you are child free, then you can make a real night of it at Jellyrolls duelling piano bar.

Lovely atmosphere, and a real treat....enjoy!! :thumbsup2

there are also the surrey bikes to go round on. Graet fun! :thumbsup2

Here is lots of good info to read about the Boardwalk. It's a dreamy place at night. From the Boardwalk area, you can see some of the highest of the fireworks from Epcot's Illuminations.
Ahhhh, I wish I could be there right now! :sunny:

The Boardwalk seems slower paced, more relaxed a great time to be had for sure. We had dinner, got our daughters face painted, strolled and people watched.

Hi everyone,

thank you for your responses.

I will add the boardwalk to my must do list for my trip next year.

Thanks again!

Am i right in thinking that you can talk a walk to it from Downtown disney or a boat?? kind of remember them building it when i was there is 2003, if i am thinking of the same place - across the water?

I am not sure you can catch a boat to DTD from the Boardwalk, but you can definitely get one to EPCOT & MGM.

We had a look around the Boardwalk last year and we are staying there in August, it looks great, there is entertainment on site and all round looks like a nice place to stay.
I couldn't stay there for the duration of our holiday - 3 weeks - but hopefully will enjoy our time there.
The fact that the ESPN sports bar is located here was absolutely nothing to do withour decision to stay here.

You're thinking of Saratoga Springs, Julie Ann.

I think you are speaking about SSR as that is located across the water from DTD :)

We stayed there twice last year with DVC and it's possibly our favourite resort! The children love the pool.

We have stayed at the Boardwalk lots of times as DVC Members and really enjoy the area.

You can visit the Boardwalk day or night. Here is a map of that area http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/boardwalk.htm

The Boardwalk is situated around Cresent Lake with the Yacht and Beach Club and the Swan and Dolphin Resorts.

In the daytime you could even get a friendship boat from Epcot or the Studio's and have a midday break from the parks or just spend some time there in the evening, there is parking available at the Boardwalk.

There are some lovely restaurants at the Boardwalk, EPSN, Spoodles, Flying Fish and Big River Grille and if you venture to one of the other resorts there are even more restaurants there.

Surrey Bikes are available for hire and there are games and buskers. There is a Bakery which sells gorgeous desserts and Seashore Sweets where you can get ice cream's.

There is different shops Disney's Character Carnival,Dundy's Sundries, Screen Door General Store, Thimbles & Threads and Wyland Galleries.

There are some member photos here http://www.wdwinfo.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=543

If you need any other info just ask :)
