I'll be at WDW for two weeks in June (go every year with my three children)and for the first time, a friend and her 13yo son are joining us for the first 3 days. She wants to take him somewhere that they have entertainment, i.e. line dancing, etc... that he might enjoy. We'll also have my 13yo son, 9yo son and 8yo daughter. While I love a party myself, the times that I've been over to the Boardwalk with my children, I found it a little boring. Maybe I just wasn't in the right frame of mind, or need another adult to get motivated. Does anyone have suggestions for how to make a fun "party night" that includes children? Thanks. It's my friends first trip to WDW and I want to make it memorable for them both!

I have twin 13 year old boys who have been to WDW so many times that they are almost getting bored with it...lol...so I know the feeling of trying to make sure that they have a good time...sometimes it can be a challenge, esp in the evenings after the parks close...

We are regulars at the BWI so we spend alot of time there...The options available for teens are the pool, the arcade in the hotel as well as the arcade at the ESPN club, and the few Midway style games they have along the Boardwalk (shooting water into the clowns head to make the balloon pop, basketball shoot etc)...You can also do some of the silly things such as have your caricature drawn or have your palm read...Alot of it depends on how fun you make it...If you lead the way and maybe even act a bit corny, it makes it a bit more fun for them...The teens will not be allowed into Atlantic Dance Hall or The Dueling Piano Club....

I usually bring the boys to DTD at least once or twice during the stay...this is usually where they have the most fun...DQ is their favorite...sometimes I go with them, and sometimes we leave them alone and go to PI, then they meet us at midnight when DQ closes...

If the 13 year olds are mature enough, you may want to consider PI...The boys love the comedy club...Also, the Adventurer's Club is a blast, although it can get a little bit racy for young teens later in the evening...but the boys loved it when we went...Even if you just walk around PI the kids will have fun...there are fun shops and also the midway style games also...Plus live bands playing and people dancing in the streets...and at midnight they celebrate new years eve...

One other option is to go hotel arcade hopping...The best arcade in all of WDW is at the Contemporary...Sometimes my wife and I will go for drinks at the Poly and the kids will take the monorail over to the CR...they have their own cell phone, so we can keep in touch...and I think they like that independent feeling of going alone...

Hope some of this helps...have fun!!

I would take the kids to the Capone diner show. My kids were 12 and 11 at the time and loved it. It was reasonable, because you can find a coupon for it. The food was outstanding and the entertainment was awesome! The kids still talk about it. They even give out prizes at the end of the night. If The capone diner show isn't your thing, though very amusing and entertaining, you might want to try the Dolly Parton diner show. I heard that is alot of fun also. We will try that one when we go in July.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for the tips! I've never been to PI, but I think we'll give that a try.

what time do most of the midway adventures open? the palm reader, the fire eater, the rope twirling girl, etc. thanks! :earboy2:

They would love Disney Quest. It is something the 10-14 year old group really enjoy. My kids loved it.
