BoardWalk- DVC side studio. . . Is it me or.

do these rooms....seem like "yikers". I though i had heard that the rooms were refurbed. But we stayed DVC last month and I just thought the room was well, crappy. Now, that said, i've stayed at many resorts at wdw, and after staying at boardwalk, i dont wanna stay anywheres else on property. I LOVE IT. But the room was not good at all.

The BWV DVC Units are scheduled for a refurbishment in the Fall of 2023 (September) into 2024.

I wouldn't say the rooms are "crappy", I think that's rather harsh. Maybe they are a little "shabby" when compared to a newer resort like RV or to the flagship resort GF but I wouldn't call them crappy.

BWV had a soft-goods refurb (refresh) back in 2016, so they are knocking on 7 years old at this point.

I stayed in a studio end of November, no problems. I wouldn’t call it “crappy”.

They aren’t crappy, but they are in need of some love. The showers in the studio, on the other hand, are in my opinion the worst I’ve used in any hotel I’ve ever stayed in.

Exactly. It's in need of a refurb, and is getting one. So...not sure there's much else to say.

I own at BCV and wish I had bought at BWV. Definitely homier. Stay there a lot.

I thoroughly enjoyed BW pool view studio in December. DSis was a few doors down, and hers was nice too!

Here now in a 1BR Boardwalk view. The room isn't sparkling new like Riviera (which I wouldn't expect), but we're very happy with the condition and especially the openness of the space (also the largest balcony I've ever seen).

Overall, we're enjoying staying at Boardwalk (loving the proximity to EPCOT), but I do have one small complaint.. Temps here in FL are mild this week (darn warm yesterday), but the hallway is FREEZING because of the AC (although part of me is loving the fact that they have the AC on in January!).

ETA: The AC was not as cold after our first day. I think maybe a lot of people complained about how cold it was. Also, they may have turned the AC off because the temps got a little cooler outside.

This is my biggest/only complaint (beyond some outlets not working) - really would love updated showers. Otherwise, home is home!

The resort charm is still there. And I'd expect my room to be clean and functional. But you can't help but feel the age, especially if you've recently stayed in the likes of SSR, VGF or Riviera. The kitchens and bathrooms are basically resort-orginal from the mid 90s.

Yikers is the correct word for the sleeper sofas. The Murphy beds will be a big improvement.

We are at WDW now, staying at BLT the first week our next two weeks will be at BWV. I really like BLT but the room when compared to BWV is lacking in certain areas. Example is the size of the closets in both the bedroom and the main coat closet. The closet in the 1 BR units at BWV are walk-in and a good place to keep the cloths basket for laundry. The closet in BLT is small, no extra room for laundry basket. The kitchen storage is different, I prefer BWVs to BLT. Another thing I don't like as much at BLT when compared to BWV is the dining table does not face the TV (at least in the room we are in). It's nice to be able to sit at the table eating or working on computer and be able to see the TV. The main bathroom should have a shelf for a bar of soap so it doesn't have to sit in a pool of water. I know these are minor issues but just some things I noticed. I guess it's all in what you get used to.

I will say I LOVE the rain shower in the main bathroom. That felt so good, I loved it and wish I had one at home. I wish they would put them in BWV.

I forgot to mention the 2nd full bathroom in the one bedroom at BLT is very nice and a plus over BWV 1 bedroom

Yes! They need a refurb and thankfully it’s coming! I can’t understand how they haven’t even added a place to charge something near beds. Or add somewhere to place items on the other side of the bed in the studios.

I will say I LOVE the rain shower in the main bathroom. That felt so good, I loved it and wish I had one at home. I wish they would put them in BWV.

I totally agree I LOVE the rain head showers in the Poly and GFV It would be so marvelous if they put them in the BWV too
