Just wondering where to go when we are staying at the BWV. I have heard people say there is no counter service. Is this true?? Where do you fill up your mugs? Where do you pick up a quick fix??

TIA
Debbie

We have stayed at the BWI many times.

The pizza window at Spoodles is where we always got our mugs filled and we loved the pizza too.

There is also a great bakery just down the way from Spoodles for quick delights.

On the Boardwalk there are a couple other alternatives in the form of small buildings selling crepes, dogs, etc.

The beauty of the Boardwalk resort is that you have numerous dining options all the way around the lake.

On the Boardwalk side there several choices from snacks to full sit down dinners. On the other side of the lake the Beach Club And Yacht Club have several more alternatives.

I would have preferred a CS at BWI. Altho there are a few places to get sandwiches (Boardwalk Bakery being one excellent place), I felt there weren't enough options for lunch. A few of the kiosk-type places were not open at lunch time. Twice we ended up at an unplanned TS lunch (ESPN, and the Brew place), which made us too full for our planned TS dinner.

I'm with you here, The boardwalk is great.

The Boardwalk happens to be my favorite Epcot Resort, however it's because their lack of a real counter service location is the main reason why my family and I never stayed there. If they had one like Gasparilla's Grill & Games which is at the Grand Floridian, we might consider staying there.

Not a huge fan of the BWV/Inn myself for several reasons, and one being the restaurant/dining issue. Yes, you can go out on the boardwalk and hunt down places to eat, but it doesn't compare to having a dedicated restaurant and counter service area.

You can go to the Beach Club, where they have a much better set up in my opinion, of course. :teeth: There is a nice counter service place inside the resort. It shares space with the resort shop. There is Beaches and Cream, and Hurricane Hannah's all that will give you a nice counter service type meal. However, be warned. If you are using the DDP, Beaches and Cream is considered table service.

If you are staying the Villas proper, you may want to lay in a supply of light foods and snacks. That can keep you from having to wander around looking for something to eat, eh?

All told, many folks like the BWV/I and I'm sure you'll be just fine.

guess we're in the minority, cos we're glad BW doesn't have a full CS location :confused3
there is quite a selection of TS dining locations in the BW area ~ on the BW itself, at BC/YC, as well as EPCOT, and a number of CS "style" meals (pizza, hot dogs, etc). or you can walk to BC or EPCOT for full CS.
we find lacking that whole CS "cafeteria" type setup adds to the charm & elegance of the BW, & keeps the lobby & interior common areas of the resort less noisy & congested. (same reasons why we prefer YC to BC, btw).

just mho :)
