When planning our trip that ended yesterday to visit "the World" , I only knew that we wanted to be close to EPCOT and wanted Club level. We have previously stayed at AKL Club (2015) and GF (Club at SL) and thought they were lovely so no complaints here. However the staff, the accommodations, the food and the general ambience of the Boardwalk was SO wonderful... I would probably never stay anywhere else.Mind you, this is taking nothing away from the other two club levels but we thought BWI CL had the winning edge.
I usually take one of my 2 grandkids every 2 yrs but this year, my husband wanted to join us. So... we decided to take both grandson 8yo and granddaughter 9 yo. They too, experienced all 3 club levels. The staff at BWI were engaging and so kind to them!!
We had a club room "in the door" (never could quite figure out what that meant but now I know) with a Boardwalk view. Spectacular.
We were greeted at the front desk by a club level staff person who took us up to the 4th floor and showed us to the lounge where they had just stopped serving breakfast but were laying out midday snacks. Our room was ready soon after with just one slight glitch (leftover undies from the previous guests in 2 of the drawers; this was remedied immediately by housekeeping.) Without a day by day, I can only say that both kids were always welcomed warmly by the staff people in the lounge and at the CL desk. The food....? This pescaterian thought she had "died and gone to fish heaven". My grandkids and husband were similarly elated and yes, we did forgo dinner twice in favor of the nighttime offerings.
The walk to both EPCOT and DS was super easy although we did use the boat service at times. Minor complaint was the bus service to AK and MK (SLOOOOOW) but this would not be a deal breaker.
I also eat only sugar free desserts and the wonderful staff person Sammie saw to it that I had a sugar free dessert nightly. Also wanted to mention Chefs Redgie and Jay by name; they fed us and totally enthralled Max (grandson) . He named them as his favorite part of his vacay.
So thanks to all of you, we have found a new "home'; already have a "bounceback" for 9/19 with granddaughter only!!
