I am having problems getting answers quickly from my planner (darn lay-offs!), so i figured i would turn to my friends here...

has anyone had a buffet or cocktail-like reception at the Boardwalk? I am an Escape SBP bride, and I am looking for sometihng small, inexpensive, and simple for lunch after our noon wedding. I really like the food options at beaches and cream or such places (as in $20/person or so)...

Has anyone had anything at the boardwalk? is it true you can get the st james room for no room-fee? thanks!

I don't know about the buffet option or if this is even available, but there is a bar in the Boardwalk that looks so cute for a small buffet reception..I don't know if this is even an option so I may be totally wrong, but it looked like a good place

also, has anyone done something at captians grille for lunch? Is there a room off to the side or something, or do you just sit with everyone? Thanks!!

Unfortunately, Captain's Grille doesn't have a private room - it's all open, like Cape May at the Beach Club.

None of the rooms at the convention center venues, including the St. James room, have venue fees. You can see BoardWalk Inn menus, including brunch buffets, here: http://www.magicalkingdoms.com/ftw/wdw/menus.html

But DFTW is moving toward more "universal" menus, so you can pretty much have anything from any menu or make up your own stuff as long as the chef approves it. :thumbsup2

ooh, thanks for the link!!

I like the "miss america" buffet, but perhaps a simpler version... we only have 20 people, so 4 entree options would be a waste! I will definitely talk to my planner about this!

Thank goodness they are looking at make your own stuff b/c there is nothing on these menus that I would eat! Except the Miss America...but I want stuff from LeCellier!!! :rotfl: I'm a meat and taters kind of girl!!!

we've only got 20 people! we are thinking about either going to a park for CP or whispering canyon afterwards! we don't need 4 entrees or 23 salad options... we want this to be simple...
