Sorry if this has been posted before - I have tried the search function for days - but keep on getting "503 Service Unavailable".

We are leaving in 4 days and it is my daughter's birthday. I saw a picture on the boards not too long ago of a cake from the Boardwalk Bakery that I would like to get for her. I was wondering if anyone could tell me:

How much does it cost
If I need to pre-order it, and if so a phone number to do so
If they deliver or do I pick it up?
If they deliver how much do they usually charge?

I have a picture of it I am attaching.

This is the only thing I can find.

24 hours notice is requested.

5" - $12.50
9" - $25.00
12" - $36.00
1/4 sheet - $48.00
1/2 sheet - $70.00
Full sheet - $102.00

I would think that you would have to pick it up since they do not deliver.
You can call them and get all the info you need.

Boardwalk Bakery 407-939-2393

Will do! I'm probably gonna call tomorrow! I'll let you know what I find out!

Okay! I just couldn't wait till tomorrow! I just had to find out! I tried to call the number from antree - but it went straight to a voice mail system. So I googled to find a # for the bakery.

The number is - (407) 939-5100 - This brought me to the Boardwalk and they transferred me to the Bakery.

The cost of the cake is $45.00

They need 24 hours notice.

If you order directly from them - you HAVE to pick it up yourself!

You can order it from your resort - and doing so, they will get it for you. She asked me where we were staying. I told her "POP Century" She told me she believes that they will deliver it for free! I hope she's right!!!!! So if you want it delivered to your resort - you have to order it from the resort!

So, I guess I'll be ordering from the resort when I check in!

Thanks for the info! My dd loved that cake when she saw it (we'll be there on her birthday). However, DH said "45 for a cake?!" hee hee... I guess we'll see how that plays out.

Yeah! $45 for a cake is really high. My Husband was put off by it also - But it's such a unique cake and your in Disney World for a Birthday! That's a special occasion in itself!

I think you can purchase a different cake from the restaurants, etc. for cheaper but from what I gather it's just a 6" cake with a Mickey on it with Happy Birthday written on it for something like $12.

Can someone tell me if this is right?

If you decide to eat at 1900 park faire or any other Grand Floridian restaurant, they have a bakery there that will make any style cake and have it ready for your breakfast/dinner reservation. I believe the cheapest they have is 9" for 25 dollars. Also, I know alot of people can barley finish 3/4 of the cake, so I would ask the bakery person how many people the cake feeds before buying a huge one.

We got that cake last year for my daughter's birthday. We picked it up at the bakery- it was only $15-20 then. They told us to order it at least 24 hrs before pick-up.

You'll have to let us know how that cake turns out! It looks like its covered in poured chocoalte ganache, so it should be good. We ordered a birthday cake from the Boardwalk Bakery, but it was a buttercream frosted cake and I am sad to report it was the most disgusting cake I've ever had. The frosting tasted like pure lard. (I make cakes quite frequently, so I am rather picky about my frosting, but ew!)

Yes, but this did not stop me from ordering a 10" cake for me, DH, DS and DD for my DD's birthday at 1900 Park Fare next week. Can you say - LEFTOVERS??? I'm bringing the rest of that lovely confection back to our room to feast on for the remainder of the trip! Mmmm, cake for breakfast!!! :rotfl:

We actually gave the rest of our cake to Mousekeeping. We knew we'd never finish it and we'd had such a wonderful Mousekeeper that trip we wanted to give her something a little extra.

Yes, I realize I said I hated the cake :rotfl: but maybe they liked it! It was better than wasting it!

I have purchased the Boardwalk Mickey cake twice in two difference sizes and they are each one of the best cakes I have ever had!!!

Feefeewhite, may I ask what size of the Mickey cake have you ordered? The $45 is huge and we have only 4 people. I hate to see it go to waste and I don't think that POP has a fridge.

I ordered the one smaller than $45.00 I believe the seond time since we had to leave some behind the first time even with 6 people? I am sorry I do not recall the cost. Boardwalk bakery will know and they are great. The chef will probably talk to your herself to make it special for you!

Thanks Feefeewhite. I'll try to call POP and see if they can order it for us from Boardwalk then.

I am also wondering if someone would have a list of cakes that Boardwalk Bakery offers. I have the catalog from the MK Special occassion cake ordering place, but I don't want to get the 8 inch cake with only the frosting.

When I called boardwalk - they didn't tell me they had 2 different sizes of the Mickey Cake! What are the size differences?

I just called POP and the CM knows nothing about placing orders for cakes from Boardwalk Bakery. Is is just my luck? Maybe I'll call Boardwalk Bakery tomorrow and try to figure out. :sad2:
