hi there...
we are hoping to be onsite sometime this year ! probably at POR or POFQ,
and I have always heard about the boardwalk...
Is it worth a visit and if so, what is the best way to get there using
onsite transportation ?

so can someone sell me on why we should visit the boardwalk with kids ??
another thing I have heard is that its better in the evening than during the day ? why is that ?

thanks for all the info !

the boardwalk area is very nice and i say worth a trip to see. you can walk to it from epcot (right inbetween england and france) they have restaurants and shops, (the kids will like the sweet shop) plus the bc/yc and the s/d. the resorts are all circled around a lagoon with boats going to and from the resorts to mgm and epoct. if you want after you can also walk behind the bwi and follow the signs to mgm!

thanks .. I did not know this !.....
are there any dine-in restaurants there ?

TIA.

I guess people might think it's better at night because there are more street performer, and just more people in general. That's also when the night clubs would be open.

To get there I would recommend taking the bus from POR to MGM and then walking or taking the boat over to the BW.

are you talking the the same boat that we would take to downtown disney ??

Yes, there are a few dine-in restaurants - Big River Grille and Brewery, ESPN Cafe, Flying Fish Cafe and Spoodles.

The boats that serve the area loop between BoardWalk, Beach and Yacht Clubs (across the lagoon), Swan and Dolphin Hotels, MGM and Epcot.

I dont think she is..
POR & POFQ boats ONLY go to Downtown Disney.

Boats in the Epcot Resort Area go to MGM and EPCOT.

You can walk to MGM or EPCOT from the Epcot Resort Area too.

No walking to anything from POR or POFQ except to the bus stops :)

Boardwalk is WONDERFUL! It is really neat to walk around at night and you can rent a tour bicycle where all of you can ride around the boardwalk, and try out Beaches and Cream for the best ice cream treats on property and next to Beaches and Cream is an arcade, and there is a little beach where you can play in the sand and sit in lounge chairs, and a dock where you can go down by the water.

Have fun! :thumbsup2

Does anyone know the best route to the boardwalk from WL?

Take the bus to MGM and instead of going through the turnstiles turn right just before the entrance and walk towards the EPCOT resort area. It is about a 15 minute, very pleasant walk. If you don't want to walk you can take a boat.

I also recommend Boardwalk for a visit. Walk around the entire perimeter. Visit Beach Club for burgers at Beaches and Cream. They have a sit down ESPN pub, a nice bakery, very cool street performers, a great view and if you time it right you can catch a bit of illuminations. The hummus at the Brewery is very good as well. Love the Boardwalk!

If you are going the the Boardwalk from POR, then all we did was take the boat to DTD and jumped on the Boardwalk bus. It didn't that long at all to get there.

Or you can take bus to Beach Club resort and walk over to the BW.
You may find that enjoyable as well. I know we did.

The Boardwalk is great, but go at night when it's more lively.Maybe after Illuminations since you can walk over!!
