Is the new gondola stop going to be at the International Gateway Entrance at World Showcase? If so, the construction shouldn't impact the Beach Club, should it? We aren't staying there this trip, but we will again and who knows how long this construction will take!

I have to say, that bums me out a bit. When we stay at Beach Club, it feels like our secret entrance! :)

Yes, the station will be where the large grassy oval is just outside the park gates.

As I understand it, the route will take the gondola behind Disney's Boardwalk Resort and near the backstage area of France. As such, Disney's Beach Club resort will not suffer much from construction noise. As you can see in the photo above, the road/tunnel and that large forested area is between the station and the resort.

As for crowds at the International Gateway Entrance, I'm not sure it will be as bad as some envision. It will depend on the capacity of each gondola. I've yet to read a credible source that states the actual capacity of each gondola. But, if you guess it's 30 people, that's not a ton showing up at once. Certainly, they will be arriving constantly. Still, a couple of extra security stations and a few more touchpoints to check tickets and you're good to go.
