Hi everyone,

Just a quick question - can you walk from the boardwalk/Yacht & Beach Club area to EPCOT if you're not staying there? I know they're pretty close to the World Showcase bit but Scott thinks you need to show resort ID to get through.

Yes, you can easily walk from the Yacht Club or BoardWalk to Epcot. It's a five minute walk and a very pleasant one at that. Even walking from the Swan/Dolphin only takes about ten minutes.

The International Gateway is no different from the "main" entrance - all you need is a valid park ticket and they'll let you in - no resort ID required. :)

Hope that helps,

Charlotte

That's great, just trying to plan our meals and I wanted to check if we could nip over from EPCOT to a restaurant around there without having to drive around. This will give us loads more flexibility - cheers!

I just wanted to second what Charlotte said. We walked from Epcot to the Boardwalk last August, took no more than 5-10 mins and it was lovely. :goodvibes

We did exactly the opposite one year - stayed at the Swan and popped across to Epcot for meals all the time! :goodvibes

We took this walk out of EPCOT via the International Gateway on our first trip in 2000 and ended up buying into DVC at the Boardwalk - we liked it that much :teeth:

It's our 'Home' and we love it

Tried this last year and have a word or two of warning.

On busy nights at the Boardwalk - football or baseball on at ESPN Club for example, you cannot park in the Boardwalk parking lot and you have to use a lot on the other side of the road near the Hess filling station.

This made for a 10 minutes walk into Boardwalk plus another 10 to Epcot.

Whilst our having a meal at ESPN on the way in broke up the walk, that sure was a long 20 minutes back after Illuminations ::MickeyMo

Hoping to have a walk down to the Boardwalk if we have a second day in EPCOT this year. Possibly about 5pm then return for Reflections. (Offsite so no transport back if we watch from the Boardwalk)

Well the idea we had was to have an EPCOT day, walk over the Boardwalk area about 5ish for an ADR meal or to get something at Beaches & Cream, then walk back over to EPCOT for Illuminations. Obv we'd be parked in EPCOT so we wouldn't need to worry about Boardwalk parking.

That sounds a great plan Sophie, I hope you enjoy it, we are also hoping to try Beaches and Cream this year, we are staying at the Dolphin :goodvibes

Is is possible to park at the Boardwalk and then walk over to Epcot, thereby saving the parking fee if you are not staying on site?

No. Parking at the Boardwalk is for Boardwalk resort guests only. You may be granted a 3 hour permit but that is it. It's very unfair on resort guests who are paying to stay there if the cart park is filled with cars from off-site or other resorts.

Yes totally agree.

That's a misleading reply. You might not like it, Disney don't like it, but you can certainly do it.
I'm just guessing here but I assumed keasden would want the official answer, and to not break Disney rules and inconvenience other guests.
