Is there alot to do on the Boardwalk to keep kids (small boys and a teenageish girl) busy? Not all day, mind you, but for a few hours? Will they have fun?

Pam

Most of the entertainment/few midway games happens in the evenings during the latter half of the week. There is a small arcade in the ESPN Club. You can rent a surrey bike. So depending on when you go, you may or may not have enough for your kids to do..

Last summer we went to the boardwalk after eating dinner at the Cape May Buffet and had a great time! We took the ferry over and then rented surrey bikes. As we were riding the fireworks went off at Epcot. Our party consisted of me (39) DH(36), my parents (60, 63) my cousin and his wife (both in their forties) their two girls (13 and 14) and my two sons (2, and 5)...there seemed to be plenty to see and I saw some people eating ice cream. It was a nice evening...have a fun trip!

Glad I asked. I was looking at the pics on ***********'s site (wonderful pics, by the way) and it appeared the Boardwalk was a more 'happening' place and more kid-friendly. I guess I won't plan for an entire evening there.

Where is the miniature golf located?

Pam

I am not sure exactly where the min. golf is located but it must be close to there because I have read about the Swan/Dolphin faq's and it talks about Fantasia Gardens (the name of one of the courses) Sorry I can't be of more help!

The mini golf is across the street from the entrance to the Swan and Dolphin.

Yes, Fantasia Gardens is within walking distance from the BW.

I'm not really sure what you're looking to do at the BW...are you staying there and hoping for a few diversions at your resort, or planning to visit for an evening? Either way, I think it will work out fine.

There are a few games, some picture booths like they have in arcades at real boardwalks, and various places and things to eat. Ice cream can be purchased at the sweet shop and there's also the bakery for desserts...plus several restaurants. There is also live entertainment most evenings. We've seen a man playing a rolling piano, a jazz band, a magician, and I think, a juggler. There are also some shops, but they're mainly the typical resort stores.

I was thinking that if you had dinner somewhere on the Boardwalk or YC/BC, you could then walk over to Fantasia Gardens to play mini golf. The walk is leisurely and it is definetly within walking distance. I did it before with my husband and two children. Afterward, you could walk back to the boardwalk and have ice cream and play some midway games or just walk around the entire area or rent a surrey bike. If you wanted to you could also go into Epcot to catch illuminations. I think you could keep busy. Have a wonderful trip!:D

We're staying at BCV for 5 nights and CB for two. We're getting 4 day hoppers and I'm trying to convince my husband that there is more to do at Disney than the parks. We're going to Disney Quest one day, also. So...I need to show him that we can fill up two full days between SAB and the Boardwalk (we'll do Downtown Disney the day we do DQ). I have no question we can do other things...but I am hoping to have 'solid proof' we won't be bored for two days!!

Thanks for all the info,
Pam

We usually start out our trip to the BW by eating dinner some place and then afterwards we check out all the shops and stuff until we are ready to have dessert, and then we hop on the boat and go across to Beaches 'n Cream and have huge ice cream sundaes, from there we check out the BC and YC and then head back over to the BW. Last year we stayed at CBR and went over to our usual trip to the BW, did all the above and then got caught in a rainstorm on our way back, so then we decided to just sit out on the porch of the BWI and rock on the rocking chairs while it poured down rain....it looked beautiful because it was getting dark and the water and everything looked so pretty, it was fun and very relaxing.
