Trying to decide on BWV 1 bedroom villa or BWI garden suites. Does anyone have pictures of a 1 bedroom villa at BWV? Are there doors separating the main bedroom from the sleeper sofa? Do they have king size beds and a sofa bed? Any input would be appreciated.

I have stayed in both. Villas have a king sized bed in the bedroom with a pull out sleeper couch in the living room area. There is a full kitchen and a washer and dryer. The garden suite I stayed in also had a king sized bed on the second floor with a full bath and a jacuzzi ( all 1 bedroom villas also have a jacuzzi), not sure if the couch is a sleeper. There is only a small kitchen area with a bar sink, small refrigerator, coffee machine, maybe a microwave, can't remember about that. Our garden suite had a good size balcony off the bedroom but most of them have the garden areas in front of the unit in place of a balcony. I am quite sure that all garden suites come with concierge priviledges which is a bit awkward since you have to go outside your suite to the elevators to go up to the concierge floor. I am not sure of the exact rates but I think the garden suites are quite a bit more than the 1 bedroom villas and I honestly would prefer a villa over the suites, I like the layout better and the decor is more to my taste.Hope this helps....would love to be in either right now!!!! ::MinnieMo

In the 1 bedroom villa...is the king size bed separated from the sleeper sofa? My concern is we will be sharing it with my inlaws and they...shall we say snore! So is it separated ? haha The 1 bedroom villa is on the villa side of the resort? Thank you so much for your input.

Isn't this your anniversary trip? Perhaps it would be best if both couples simply reserved a standard room at BWI or regular concierge rooms. That way, neither couple is stuck sleeping on a pull out sofa. I like concierge service, so I would choose the garden suite or that level room. Perhaps it's wise to let the in-laws decide what's best for them. If you only have 2 booked into your concierge room, an option is to have your in-laws listed on your reservation and pay the $50 additional per night for them to have use of the lounge. That way, they can reserve a standard room, everyone has their privacy and all 4 of you can relax with a lovely view from the concierge lounge.

Yeah, it is our anniversary.! That is good advice... They'll only be there a couple of days. I'm not to thrilled about it. It went from going back for our anniversary to a family vacation..funny how that happens . hahaha We're trying to save them $ They've never paid a disney resort price , not even when we got married. I understand it can be pricey.
Another?...would the price be "about" the same with either 2 standard or a 1 bedroom villa? I'm torn... Thanks again

The bedroom is separate from the living room, you can close the bedroom door for privacy.

The 1 bedrooms are in the villa side.

The balcony I had with the garden suite was looking out to the quiet pool, lovely area but mostly covered with small trees. The concierge lounge has a fabulous view at night of the Illuminations fireworks and with the other folks watching from the same spot it is a nice and festive atmosphere. Rack rate for the standard room at BWI is $345, Villas 1 bdrm is $405, and the garden suite is $630. There are some discounts available on these rooms but very limited since the Boardwalk fills up fast, another option is renting the points from a DVC owner for the 1 bdrm. ::MinnieMo

Thanks everyone so much for your input. We decided on the 1 bedroom villa! I only have a few more ?'s.... What kind of view choices do you have with a 1 bedroom villa? Is there a view of the boardwalk? Are these non-smoking? One more... I called and booked the room by phone. However, the CM suggested I try the best rate... but only a studio comes up through the passholder website. If I go thru the normal way thru the website the villa shows up so its available. Any thoughts? If all else fails the CM said to call in Aug for my fla resident discount. Thanks again so very much.

If you are booking through CRO, they do not offer view choices, they are all booked as standard. CRO reservations get whatever DVC members do not book. Boardwalk views are reserved for DVC members staying on points, unless there are some that are not booked for points (which would be very rare).

Is there a 1 bedroom villa that has a boardwalk view? I know we'd get last dibbs but I 'm curious if there is such a view with the 1 bedroom villa.

Yes, there are studios, 1 and 2 bedroom, and Grand Villas that have the Boardwalk view! Grand Villas come only with the Boardwalk View.

I would think your odds of getting the Boardwalk view are very good. When booking on DVC points the Standard views cost less points per night and those rooms always go first.

Oh thank you so much. Our decision has been made, but I have yet another ? The more I try to research , the more I get confused. I was looking on another website and they showed pictures of suites in the BWI. Do they have bedroom suites at the Inn side too? I think the room # was 4226 if that helps .

Standard and Boardwalk views go first for DVC members, they are each about 20% of the total rooms. Preferred Pool/Garden are usually left, which are the remaining 60%. I would not get your hopes up for a boardwalk view. DVC members cannot get a member cash discount for boardwalk view, DVC member services has stated it's strictly points.

Thanks for the clarification. To be honest, we always take a standard view on points. I never realized there was anything other then Standard or Boardwalk views as that is what the points are listed as.

Actually the DVC points chart reads standard and preferred. Preferred was broken down into 2 subcategories about 2 years ago with the same amount of points. So if you reserve preferred view, you reserve either preferred pool/garden or preferred boardwalk.
