Title pretty much says it all. I'm interested in any jelly/larvae ("sea lice") reports from CC.

I realize it's sort of in larvae season and was hoping for some first hand insight into whether they've shown up.

What is this? I have been to Castaway 25 times and never seen or heard of them having sea lice. What does it do?

They're a type of jellyfish larvae. You can't see them really but they will sting and leave a rash when they get caught inside your swimsuit.

They "bloom" seasonally in Florida and the Caribbean.

we noticed it last year in the cabanas in front of 18 at this time last year... this year we were in cabana 5 and had no issues... however this year we had sea safe on vs last year when we did not so i'm probably no help lol, HAVE FUN! I'm jealous! How exciting!

We were there on April 8. We didn't have any issues with larvae, but when I was swimming near the snorkel area, I accidentally brushed the top of a jelly about 14"-18" across. Thank goodness my hubby yanked me in the oppoaite direction as my first nonchalant thought was just, "Why is a grocery bag floating around at Castaway Cay?"
