Boarding the ship. What to do first?

Well I'm going on the dream in December, what should I do first. I will probably go swimming but are there a lot of people swimming if you get on at an early time? Also should my family wear a bathing suit when they bird or pack it in their day bag and change onboard? Thank for the help!!

My sister's family made a beeline for the aquaduck.

My family went to cabana's for lunch.

Lat time we ate first. Next year the grandkids will wear their bathing suits under their clothes, and will be ready to eat or swim.

If you want to go swimming right away wear suits under your clothes. Otherwise you will have to change in the public restrooms. You can get in to your staterooms at about 1:30.

If you just can't wait to hit the pools, wear a suit under your clothing--quicker. Changing in public restroom is ....well, sub-optimal unless you are a contortionist.

What to do? We go to lunch, but it's a great time for water stuff. Most people who aren't Dis-ers don't think of a swimsuit in daybag or under clothing so the pools/Aquaduck aren't crowded.

The other thing I like to do right away (while kids and husband are at pool) is to go and deal with any dining changes (or just to check if they did indeed give us a table to ourselves). Then I go to Guest Services to find out times for tastings (and book them, too)

Well, you can't really "swim" the pools are too shallow. But you can certainly enjoy sitting in the pool and watching whatever movie they have showing by the pool. We took our suits in our carry-on, had lunch, dealt with kids clubs. I myself had a drink and then headed down to our cabin at 1:30. The room was ready and our regular bags were already sitting outside our door. We then went to the pools, beeline for Muster Drill, then back to the pool for the sail away party. We chose late seating this time because it's just too much trying to get through all the day activities and then turn around and have an early dinner. The late seating was absolutely perfect! We ordered some snacks from room service to hold the little ones over until dinner. My daughter and I were too tired, but my husband and son caught the midnight showing of Nemo 3-D.

We ate lunch and then the children changed into their suits in the restrooms. Originally I had planned to have them wear their suits, but I couldn't figure out how to have my 6 year old wear his swim trunks under his clothes and still be comfortable. I knew I wanted to do the pictures before boarding, so I didn't want him to wear swim trunks instead of shorts because then the pictures wouldn't have been as cute.

The first thing I like to do upon boarding is to make-up a name for the family, to get a laugh out of the CMs standing around clapping when we are announced.

Head to Guest Services and reserve tastings. Then eat lunch with a drink of the day. Walk around and get acquainted with the ship. Then head to stateroom to check it out. Around 3:00 head to the Spa Raffle. Can't believe I will be doing this in less than 48 hours!

I'm so jealous of you right now.

We check in as early as possible and head straight to lunch. Our plan is to hit the aquaduck as soon as our bellies are full. Once that is done we will head to the room change and go check out the rest of the ship until drill time. I am making tie dye shirts for our next cruise. I hope to make my son's match his swim trunks so he can wear them on board.

If our room is ready we drop off our carryons and go eat.

If our room isn't ready we eat.

We explore the ship and take lots of pictures, the first time on a ship takes us a while to figure out our way around.

Where do you go to sign up for tastings? This needs to be done on day 1?

Our plan is to run around and book whatever we need upon boarding and then just leisurely walk around and look at the ship until our room is ready!

Explore ship...eat lunch...AquaDuck...spa reservations if do not have or want to change (they do not always know ahead of time how many masseuses will be on board so there is a good chance some spots will be open that were not open online...same for Palo or Remy...investigate activities in D Lounge (we learned how to draw Goofy)...see if the detective agency kiosk is open (many people will not even know that it exists). Lots to do to kill a few hours before the party!

You sign up for tastings at Guest Services on the ship. You can sign up at anytime. But the more popular ones, like mixology, fill up quickly.

Now off I go to the airport to catch my flight to MCO!

When we were on the Dream in June, sign up for tastings was in one of the bars (can't remember which one).

You'll get a Navigator when you check in which will have the info about where to go.

oo00oooo this sounds like fun .. What names have you used that got good laughs ??

We ate lunch in Cabanas, changed into swim suits for an Aqua duck run. We hung out at the pool for a bit. Our rooms were ready, changed our clothes and explored the ship. The kids liked being able to see the lounges! (note to self... take camera when exploring!!)
