It is only just over a year since we last went on a Disney Cruise, but I can't remember what order they board passengers, is it:-

Those needing assistance

Cat 1&2 Passengers

and then the from the line??

Or do Castaway Club Members get to board early to?

You almost got it....:) It's disabled and then Cat. 1-3. No early boarding for CC members....Disney has so many returning guests, that most of the ship would board early! lol:p

Do they allow the people who board first to board from the terminal? Our 4-night cruise last Janaury, we didn't see anyone board before us and we were the 4th family in line.

Yes, the people who board first are boarding from the terminal. There is a sitting area across from the queueing line that has a sofa for these guests while they're waiting.

So does that mean we, who have a Cat. 11 stateroom, and will arrive around 2pm not have a big hassle of waiting...our category should be boarding or do passengers actually board in order of arrival based upon how they go thru checkin?

Thanks!

Laura, there are two lines for boarding concierge and DISabled and then everyone else. Arriving at the terminal at 2PM, you should not see a boarding line.

Other than conceirge, DCL does not board by category.

Laura,

The only boarding order is that guests with disabilities or needing assistance go on first, then the suites, which is category 1, 2 or 3. After that, they open up the queueing line and that's just based on when you arrived at the terminal and got in line. I don't think there will be much of a wait if you arrive at 2pm. The only thing with arriving that late is you might need to carry your own luggage on board and if you had any specific reservations, such as Palo's or the spa, you might need to be more flexible with times and dates, as many people take care of these in the first hour of boarding.

Tammi,

Thanks for the clarification! I know we are getting there a bit late, but we are first time cruisers and decided to go with Disney air...not sure about the weather around here and with them doing what they need to so we can get to the ship...it's peace of mind.

As for the Palo ressies...got a fellow DIS boarder doing a group meet so that shouldn't be a big deal. The rush I'll be making is to get DS signed up for the Oceaner's Lab...not sure how much he plans to go there, but want to be sure he has that set up. And for Spa needs...DH is on his own to get his ressie...me, I'm just staying with my Spa at home.

Thanks again for the quick reply!

Laura,

I know that basically there are two good choices with the air, either fly in on your own the night before or go with Disney. The Disney choices might not always be that great, but you have the added assurance that they'll get you to the ship.

You don't have to rush to get your son signed up for the lab. They will have a spot for him. All of the ships services close down at 3:30 for the mandatory life boat drill. If you don't make it to the lab before then, you can go there beginning again at 4:30.

Have a great cruise,
Tammi

We are taking the DCL bus from YC/BC-Anyone know when they pick you up from the BC and what time will you arrive at the terminal?

WDW resort pick ups are ususally from around 11:00-12:00. You can expect to be on the bus for about an hour to port and longer if you have to pick up other pax from other WDW resorts.

You can call DCL and ask them what time the pick up is at BC/YC.
