Any suggestions for boarding the MMRR vehicle with bad knees? I think I can get on but worry about getting off. Would be nice if the boarding area was level with the vehicle's floor.

Will you have a mobility device like a wheelchair or ECV? They will ask if you can walk a certain distance and stand for 5 minutes. Say that you need extra time boarding and they will take you to the pull off car. This spot gives you all the time you need to get on or off.

Using an ecv. It's the stepping into and out that I'm worried about. Especially out!

Ask CM if front or back seat gives a bit more space. We can’t remember. I know the back seat at SSE is slightly bigger. I mean maybe an inch or less, but just enough to make a difference to my husband’s knees.

Also the extra time boarding like PP said. Don’t know about you, but when people are waiting, suddenly your knees, ankles, hips becomes frozen and you can’t get in.

I’m mobility impaired and getting in and out of the car safely is a challenge for me, but I manage. It’s a big step up (or down), but there are things to hold onto. It’s hard to for me to get good leverage. Sometimes my DH has to push me. 🤪

Definitely ask to use the accessible boarding area so you have all the time you need. The CM will just ask about walking- even if you can walk the rest of the queue just let them know you need the extra time. I sometimes need accessible loading for a reason other than the walking and I just let the cm know that while I could walk the last bit, I need to use accessible loading because of x.

They will direct you to accessible boarding area with the ecv. It is much easier there away from people looking at you. My 90 yr old dad was able to get in and out of it with bad knees and hips and shoulders and back. I was worried but he managed.
