I'm out of here for good and hope maybe I have at least made some sort of an impact and raised the issues of adultism and bi/transphobia that is running rampant through our community.
I'm sorry that you've been so hurt by this conversation and I understand the need to back away.
If you're feeling up to it at some point in the future, I'd encourage you to come back and check it out again.
I think that we all have things to learn from the people who disagree with us. Sometimes I have to walk away for a couple of days and sometimes I've walked away for years. But, I have never regretted any decision I've made to venture back into a difficult space and/or conversation. If I've taken enough time to recharge first, then, I'm usually able to communicate my perspective better. And, I find that after a break, others are often able to hear me better--and if they aren't, I knew coming back that they didn't get me and am better able to release any sense of responsibility for their thoughts and/or responses.
You may or may not end up sharing this experience. But, if you find yourself interested in coming back, I'll welcome your input/experiences.
