The thread discussing board merges has been deleted. It had taken an ugly turn and was starting to get personal against specific posters (not me). I deleted the thread rather than issue any warnings or bans. Let's put this behind us.
As for the merges. What is done is done. What is already merged wont be unmerged, That's just not possible with this board software. The merges were done to make the board more inviting to the entire DISBoard community, not just photoboard regulars by better organizing years of knowledge that had been built up on the board for the benefit of everyone who visits DISboards, not just the photoboard regulars. Especially on frequently asked topics.
The only additional merges that will be made will be in situations where several threads are started on the same topic around the same time. If anyone is particularly attached to a particular title, the first poster in the thread can change the thread title by editing that first post or PM me and I'll change it.
It's clear that the majority of regulars to the board are accustomed to working with it in a very specific way built around spreading out questions and comments across multiple threads, sometimes on the same topic. Some also find it difficult to navigate to the end of a newly merged thread to pickup the conversation. There also seems to be a strong sense of ownership and preference towards one thread over another depending based on who started it in some cases. With this in mind, there wont be any more merges. This wont make everyone happy but it will make the most people happy.
I appreciate the thanks for the effort and I also appreciate the feedback from those who dont approve of the merge activity. Even those who called me an idiot in one sentence and then thanked me for the time I put into this board in another. Let's put it behind us, stop sniping at each other, and get back to focusing on the photography.
