Board Ideas-how about two Canadian boards? General and trip plans and reports?

Hi Everyone,
I was just wondering what people would think to a second Canadian Board? I was thinking it would be nice to have a seperate banner top, instead of being tucked under the transportation banner and like the UK boards have a seperate larger section for Canadians. Maybe a general board for regular chit-chat and then a second section for trip plans, trip questions and trip reports. Or evenrolleyes a seperate third board for trip reports by themselves, we Cannucks do have some pretty good writers. I might even take finger to key and even though it would be late, could offer advice and how not to break bones in Mexico!!

I have sent an email to Webmaster Alex and also posted on the sections where it asks for new ideas and have never been acknowledged so I thought if I posted this here and the majority of people thought it was a good, ( maybe even slightly great idea) that it might be given notice.
So please let me know ( be gentle now ) what you fellow Canadians think.

I think it's a great idea. It could be a community board for Canadians. We could discuss Canadian issues, like Tim Hortons, health care, butter tarts, money facts, or even complain of the snow. That would leave this board free for Disney.

I would love a Canadian Community board, Wendy! I must say though, that I don't find it too difficult to wade through the donuts and snow, to get to the money!

I'm not a Webmaster, nor do I portray one on the DIS, but if I were to guess, I'd say we only have the one board because of numbers/posters/posts.

At least thats what the standings were a few minutes ago.

I'd love it if we had another board or two, but unless we get all our friends, relatives, and lurkers to start posting more, I don't know that it'll happen. Maybe someday I'll (we'll) be pleasantly surprised!

But maybe if we had more boards, we'd have more posts. I sometimes wonder if I'm doing something wrong making OT posts here, but where else are we gonna? I think we have quite a nice community here, and it would be nice to have a separate board for shooting the breeze, as well as the one we need for trip planning because there are issues unique to us.

I think it would also make others feel more comfortable about asking us for Canadian travel advice, if this board didn't seem to be purposed specifically for us going there.

Kim, I agree, that we may not have the numbers that the UK board has but does that mean that we should be left back? I also agree with mbb about the name Canadian Visitors as a heading for our boards, "what's with that"? Are we Canadians only allowed to visit? I really think that its about time that we were given a little consideration, even if only to give our section a proper heading and not tucked under a sponser heading, maybe also to high-light our name and rename it the Canadian Dis Community or even eek: the Canadian Dis and Dat, eh ). I have been on four Disney cruises and have planned three Dis meets on board and I know of many other Canadians who attend Dis meets while at WDW, I'll be attending two more in Dec at WDW.
So how about it, all you guys up there in decision making land....please give us a little recognition

There doesn't seem to be enough traffic on this forum to warrant 2 boards, imho. I can go a few days without looking and when I do not alot has changed, we are usually still one page one. Unlike a few of the boards where you have to go back several pages before you see an old post, lol. Its pretty easy to by pass the chit chat when you want to look for a specific topic, etc. But I sure agree with a name change...I also dislike "visitors".
