Earlier today, I played a checkers game with a girl and I'm going to assume it was a kid. It was either that or a very immature adult (not that I acted very maturely myself in this situation, but anyway...). I was on the blue team, so I was going first. The timer had ticked down only about 3 seconds on the first move of the game and this girl says "Go!" to me. Well, I didn't appreciate being rushed, since I was still thinking, so I intentionally let the timer tick down to about 5 seconds left before I moved. On my second turn, the same thing happened and I intentionally let the timer tick down again. When it happened a third time, I just decided I would let the timer tick down to 5 or less on every turn. She said other stuff that I considered to be rude during that game, also, which made me glad I was being annoying, and I should have used the ignore button, but anyway, that's beside the point.
Anyway, the point I want to make here is was it really a good decision to have a board game on VMK when board games (especially checkers) require thought and patience and most kids haven't learned patience? I realize I'm generalizing and there are kids who do have patience on here (as a matter of fact, I don't know how many other people I've played that were kids, but this is the first rude person I've encountered), but I'm sure there are many, many more players on VMK like this girl.
