My mother, dd and I are heading to Disney in July a day before the rest of our family comes for a few days pre-Dream Cruise.

For a girls night out, I have made ressies at BlueZoo, which is at the Swan or Dolphin, I don't remember :confused3
We will be staying at BWVs so figure we will walk to the restaurant.

Can anyone please let me know how they liked it and if they enjoyed themselves for the money. I know it's a little pricey but don't mind spending it for a nice, relaxing good meal and drinks.

Thanks.

Blue Zoo is at the Dolphin, and IMHO- really good.

We went there as a party of 4, and did the tapas thing. We ordered salads and appetizers to share around the table (we didn't order entrees), and had plenty!

If you haven't seen the menu, you could go here: http://allears.net/menu/menu_bz.htm

This is just an example though- but it's enough to give you an idea of food, prices etc.

Have fun!!

I've been there 3 times and I LOVE it. Sometimes you can get gift certificates at Restaurants.com which help reduce cost. I LOVE their Cantonese lobster!! They have great drinks and it is a nice relaxing environment. Love Bluezoo!

YES, it is ABSOLUTELY worth it! YUMMY . popcorn::
It is in the Dolphin, BTW.

We like bluezoo more than any other WDW restaurant and go every vacation. It's a great adult evening.

Ditto. IMHO, the single best restaurant on property not named Victoria and Albert's, and one of only a handful of restaurants at WDW that would survive in the "real world" as a restaurant.

I really liked it when I ate there, I think it's worth the cost. It was a few years ago, so I forget exactly what I had, but I know I had two appetizers instead of an entree, and one was a scallop. The dessert I had was wonderful as well. It's one of those restaurants I always mean to go back to, but I keep on waiting for a trip I have TIW and not the DDP.

Might have been the scallop and shortrib appetizer. It's the one I always get at Blue Zoo.

Yes! They are both AMAZING and make a superb appetizer! The ambience is fab too. Definitely has an urban vibe without being stuffy. Great choice and the walk from BW is nice!

It's my new favorite - and I used to work at high-end NYC restaurants......

First, it's the best bread basket I've eaten in some time - it came with a yummy Fennel Butter.

The Shrimp w/ Cheese Grits was a substantial portion; the Beet Salad was beautiful.

If you like a whole fish - the Dancing Fish is excellent (and de-boned at the table).

If you like Lobster - the 'Cantonese ' style came with wok sauteed vegetables, steamed bok choy, and a pea shoot salad when last we dined here. Oh, and don't let the $60 price tag send you away - two or three of you may enjoy splitting it for a course....be decadent.

If you want something to pick at, then by all means, try the Tempura String Beans with Truffle Mayo....trust me!!

I hate to say we missed dessert in order to deal with the 'cranky' toddler, so I have no recommendations here. But if you like ice cream, grab a cone or sundae at The Fountain just past the exit door.......but if you want to truly splurge - have the Chocolate Souffle at Shula's upstairs with an after-dinner drink......obviously, I had dessert @ Shula's.....

I can break out the food porn.

I have a pic of the shortrib and scallop appetizer:

And the huge shellfish plate meant for sharing:

And not one chocolate dessert, but two. First one is a chocolate cake with gooey chocolate mousse type stuff, and peanut (not peanut butter, peanut!) ice cream:

Another one is called Chocolate Melange. It always has a chocolate mousse set on fire, and the little truffle-like stuff seems to change (well, once in October and once in December, different offerings. Here's one of them:

Yeah, I like Todd English's bluezoo™.

Thank you all VERY much!
I've looked at the menu before booking and it looks great and looks like we will all enjoy it.
It will be my mother, dd-17 and myself. I think we will have a great night :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for all your replies. I greatly appreciate it!
