Anyone care to comment on which they prefer and why? We're not on the DDP, so that's not a problem.

Thanks so much.

we have had many wonderful meals at flying fish. one occasion we sat at the counter watching the chefs cooking. it was fun! you can't go wrong w/flying fish!:yay:

They're both excellent restaurants so I don't think you could go wrong with either one.

Bluezoo is more adult, if that makes any sense. It doesn't accept the dining plan so your chances of having a truly quiet, relaxing meal are greater here than at Flying Fish. And because Disney doesn't own Bluezoo, the restaurant can push the dining envelope a bit more - their food is a bit trendier than Flying Fish in my opinion, and their presentation is amazing.

Flying Fish is very good but bluezoo is better, especially if you are more adventurous.

Just curious. Was trying to check out ressies for both for the week after New Years. There is absolutely no availability at Flying Fish for the entire week! Does that seem possible? Is there something go on there that I don't know about?

Thanks for the replies!

That seems strange, because the week after New Years is usually not that busy.

And I agree with oybolshoi about Todd English's bluezoo™. I like Flying Fish, but I had a nice relaxing adult-atmosphere dinner at Todd's place. And the food was delicious. so that didn't hurt, either. ;)

is free dining still effective the second week in january??? if so, that might be the cause.:yay: another thought......disney marathon???? what is the date for that ?

Both are very good. BlueZoo is a bit trendier, and seems to be more adventurous with the menu. BlueZoo id usually less crowded, on avergae. BlueZoo accepts no discounts at all, but Flying Fish does take the TIW discounts of 20% on both food and beverages. I don't think you can go wrong with either choice.

We love them both, but Blue Zoo gives you a more upscale feel.

We were at Blue Zoo twice this past week, testing out the new fall menu items, all fabulous.

I would say head to Blue Zoo.

can you share about the new fall menu?

I generally agree with this, but will say that FF has gone a little ways in the trendier direction over the last couple years. I never thought about it before, but that may be in response to BZ's menu.

In any event, both are quite good, although BZ is likely to be less crowded and quieter than FF.

Just to update, I called Disney dining and there is no availability for FF from 1/3 through 1/8. Seems very, very strange to me. She couldn't tell me if the restaurant was closed or something else was going on. So, I guess Blue Zoo it is (although I hate having to give up the TIW discount!).
