My wife and I are debating about whether we should give this show a shot. My 12 year old is all for it, but my 7 year old is reluctant. Can anyone give me any insight into the show? Is there anything that my 7 year old will enjoy?

Thanks in advance.

Go to youtube and do a search for Blue Man Group or rent The Complex Rock Tour Live DVD Watch the videos and decide if it's something you would enjoy. I showed my wife that DVD and she decided she didn't want to see them in Orlando.

My son is 7 now and has already seen it twice and want to see it again. He always talks about it with everyone.:thumbsup2

We've seen the show twice...It's alot of fun and very different.:thumbsup2 We've also been to cirque de sole and liked BMG more as a relaxed fun night out. I saw some kids younger than yours there and they really seemed to enjoy.:)

The only reason i can think yur kid wont like it is if they dont like loud noisy things . Some of the comedy may be over there heads but i cant see one getting bored.

By all means give it a shot. We took our ten year old grandson in December and he loved it, as did we. Funny, interesting comedy bits and skits - all without a word spoken - and music with a beat. Example of the comedy: we watched one of the BMG catch at least 20 marshmallows in his mouth (and what he did with them I won't tell but it was hilarious!).

The show is popular judging from the crowd at our show; a Sunday night the week before Christmas and the place was just about packed.

DS was 7 when he first saw the show and he is very, very sensitive to new situations, crowds, loud noises, etc...so much so he doesn't even like the 4-D or 3-D movies because it's just sensory overload for him. We were definitely nervous about BMG because it's a loud show and we had front seats.

As soon as the show started, DS was entranced and absolutely LOVED it! The show is total overload but he truly enjoyed every minute of them and even got some of the jokes I didn't think he would get. I think your 7 year old would really like it. It's definitely an experience!

Glad you decided to book by the time I got to the end of the thread. You'll have an awesome time!

Phil :)

You will be happy you booked it. Took my daughters and son(he was 9 at the time) and they all LOVED it. Waited around for pictures afterwards. My son still talks about how he got his program autographed (a blue paint handprint from paint off the guys head.
With all the silliness I think my son liked it even more that my older daughters.

I am considering this show to make NYE extra special - but not sure that it is appropriate for my 2 year old (he'll be 3 by then)- he can sit through a movie at the cinema but is inclined to talk about what he is seeing quite loudly and points things out:lmao: - if it is loud anyway would this spoil it for others or will they not notice with everything else going on??

We went when the DS's were younger and brought ear plugs for the youngest since loud noise bothers him. The earplugs lowed the the volume enough for him to really enjoy the show.

Yeah, we are really looking forward to it!!!

After some debate, we have even all agreed to take part in the "splash zone' to get the FULL EFFECT of BMG!!! Yeah!!!

You will love it! We went for the 1st time last June & had front row seats. We all had a blast (me, DH, DS14, DS11) & DS11 is actually begging to go again this year. I thought he would enjoy it, but had no idea he would love it as much as he did.

Thanks Pink!!! I know you are right!!! We are very excited for the entire trip.. but really getting excited for this show!

My oldest loves the drums (a guitar hero junkie no less), and my youngest took a peek at a show on youtube, and really liked it.. I know it is going to be fantastic live!!!

We purchased BMG and unlimited park tix through AAA. We got Tier 1 but no seat assignment yet. I wonder what our chances of being in the "splash zone" are! We'll pick up our tix on Friday for next week's Tuesday show...
