Blue Man Group

The stage is VERY close. Infact if you sit to either side, right or left Poncho your knees just about touch the stage. So close you can feel some of the effects. You don't have to look up at all it's right about eye level. They do have boosters if the kiddos need them.

I've seen both shows, and there's no way to compare them. They are both wonderful, and both are COMPLETELY different! We saw the Blue Man Group on tour, so I can't help with the outlay of the theater at Universal, but I can tell you a little about the show. No spoilers, I promise. :)

The whole family will probably enjoy it very much. It's a happy adrenaline rush full of great music, great effects, lots of humor, and just all-around good entertainment. While your boys would probably think La Noube was pretty cool and appreciate the difficulty and artistry of the performances, they'll most likely leave Blue Man Group all pumped up saying, "THAT WAS SO AWESOME!!!!!!!!!" Both shows have their own unique style that is truly wonderful. I love all the Cirque shows! But Blue Man Group is a show that pulls you into the excitement WITH the performers, as opposed to being a distant observer who is wowed by the performers at La Noube. For some reason, a contortionist seems more alien to me than some blue guys trying to figure the world out and playing great music while they do it. Until my kids are adults, I'd pick Blue Man Group for a family affair over La Noube.

I noticed on your signature that your children are 7 and 2. Did you take both of them to the show? My kids will be 6 and 5 when we go and was wondering if the show would be ok for them?
Thanks.

I just read this thread and thanks for this answer I too was wondwering if the front row seats are to close and have to look up the whole time. I checked the prices for the front row middle poncho and the price for tier 1 second row middle behind handicap and they are the same price, So I asked the 2 DS 8 and 11 and guess where they want to sit:thumbsup2 poncho front row! We can't wait! DH siad same price go for it. We are going for the 6:00 Show can you tell me how long the show is. Thanks

Show is about 1 hour and 45 minutes with no intermission. So make sure you potty first.

I've seen LaNouba and just saw Blue Man Group last week at US.

I liked LaNouba but loved the Blue Man Group. I agree with others, you can't really compare the two.

I knew nothing about the BMG show prior to going (except that they are blue and someetimes play music). I'm glad I went in with no knowledge. Much more fun.

I was amazed at the comedy in the show - just plain funny!

One of the most fun shows I've ever seen:banana:

My 17 year old son informed me yesterday that he does NOT want to see them....and this is AFTER I have purchased our tickets grr........ I did not get poncho zone seats because he said he didnt want to sit in a poncho zone.

I'll talk him into it but WHY do they need to be so difficult.....
