DH and I are going to do BMG (this year, I bought the tickets in advance rather than thinking "We will go sometime..."). SO..what is with the poncho section? Why do I need one exactly? And do I bring my own poncho?

TIA

The poncho section is the first few rows closest to the stage. During parts of the show various things can fly off the stage - drumming paint, Twinkies, banana pudding. Doesn't really get on you and you really don't need the poncho, it is more for the effect than for necessity. Since this is your first time, you might want to wear it just to make sure you are protected, but if you ever see them again you can just hold it up during the times that things might fly. And they will have one sitting in your seat waiting on you when you get there.:thumbsup2 Have fun, we love BMG!

Thanks so much! We are looking forward to it!

The ponchos are uncomfortable and hot!

Best seats are the first few rows of the section immediately behind the poncho section.

I am the first to complain about the heat but I had no problem with the provided ponchos at the blue man show

I wa sin the first row, really didn't need the poncho but being right up from was like you were right on stage with them, what a time it was, you are going to enjoy it :thumbsup2

We also sat on the first row for BMG last December. We kept the ponchos on (and weren't hot), but I think that other than our legs/shoes we would have been fine without them. There was a little banana/pudding splatter down there when we looked at our ponchos after taking them off.

Don't be worried about the poncho section; you'll have a blast.

Enjoy the show!! :thumbsup2

Thanks for all the replies..you guys are getting me very excited about seeing BMG for the first time.

I have tickets in the poncho section of BMG for October and this just answered all my questions but one! "Is it cheaper to park at City Walk in the evening or is it the same price all day".:woohoo:

Hello fellow Ontarian!

I think that it is cheaper to park for the evening rather than all day.

After 6pm, it's $3. If you park before then, it's $14.

Of course, if you have an annual pass (preferred or premier), it's free parking. :)

Does anyone know if the Blue Man Group student discount tickets are for FL students only or any college?

Saw BMG in December 2009 - like nothing I've ever experienced. We were in the first row, but did not really need the ponchos, as others have already stated. But the stage view is so great I highly recommend getting as close to the stage as possible.

Luv, luv, luv the BMG!!!

We were in the poncho section for the Las Vegas show. (Great experience -- nice section to be in for your first show). We've seen the Orlando show too - excellent show and venue. We didn't get the poncho section for this, just because our tickets were sort of last minute and that section wasn't available. It's a nice venue / not that big, so all seats are good. I think you made a great choice and will have a great time.
