Has anyone seen both shows:-We've seen Le Nouba and thought it was absolutely fantastic, even DD who was only 4 at the time was mesmorised!

Now, we don't know wether to book Le Nouba again - bcos we loved it so much....or try The Blue Man Group show? which we haven't seen.:confused3

I understand the BMG show has alot of music etc...can anyone shed light on this show, and if you've seen both, which did you prefer?

Theres me, DH, DD (7) and DS (15)

Thanks
Kx

We prefer La Nouba, but since you've never seen BMG before why not give it a go? It's very difficult to explain - have a look at some YouTube clips to get an idea of what's in store. It's very well executed, very funny and has some great special effects and music :thumbsup2

No contest for me, BMG. Don't like Cirque shows.

In our house DW would see either.
Myself and DS BMG. Every trip DS asks if we can see them again. They are brilliant.

We went to see BMG in February and loved it. We plan on going and seeing them again in October as we enjoyed them so much.
As someone already said it is very hard to explain but the music is fantastic, lots of drums and also some very funny sketches. They really get the audience involved as well but I wont go into detaisl as it could ruin some of the surprises for you.
When the show is over don't go running off though. If you wait in the foyer the Blue Men turn up for photos and autographs (well - thumb prints in the program :thumbsup2)

I love both - have seen BMG 4 times (once in Orlando) & seen several Cirque shows (La Nouba once - but have tickets to see them again in Sept).

I know that doesn't really help you decide but I think you will enjoy either & as you have already seen La Nouba then I suggest you go for BMG this trip. :thumbsup2

If it has to be one or the other then I would choose BMG but only because you haven't seen it.We've done Cirque twice & BMG once & I have to say that on our next trip we will do both again! 2 totally different shows but there is definately more audience participation at BMG,we were the first row after the "splash" zone but like Cirque there really isn't a bad seat. Some of the visual effects are stunning, won't go into any detail as it will spoil the surprise!

I'm a committed Cirque fan... seen La Nouba 4 times and three of their touring shows. However, with the same dilemma as yours, we booked Blue Man last August and loved it! See both, if poss, or if not, do the BMG for a change.. I don't think you'll regret it.

Thanks Everyone!:thumbsup2

Your input really helped...have decided to book BMG as so many positive reports. Budget cannot really stretch to both this time, and we have seen Le Nouba, so here we come BMG

:We didn't enjoy Cirque at all - but I can see why others enjoy it!:thumbsup2

I have seen clips of Blue Man Group and I'm not sure whether to try it or not?!:confused3 Would it be entertaining enough for a 3 and 6 year old or is it too much for them?? And why is there audience participation (the clip I saw just seemed to be them making music with different tubes and things) - have I totally missed what the show is about??!!:lmao: - I know a lot of people rave about it and wondered whether I just don't 'get it' or if there is more to it than I thought!!:goodvibes

thanks for any info!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Amy, their wesite says suitable from age 3, personally I think thats a bit young, also just asked DW as she has been a nursery officer for over 20 years we both agree age 5 and over in our opinion but its down to each individual child.
Their New York show says age 8 and no child under age of 5 would be allowed in. So not sure what the difference in shows is.
There is a lot more to BMG than music and tubes, you can't tell from clips on Youtube.

I realise all the seats are good viewing - The poncho seats (1st 4 rows) are coming up as available - my question is

Are these too close and do you get too wet etc?

Or should i snap them up?

Were were on 2nd row, a little dissapointed I was only hit with the tinest speck of gunk. The ponchos are more a precaution than anything. Yes all seats are good but when I see anything I want to be in 1st few rows.

The ponchos were not needed during our performance. We were sat to the right of centre, but even those in the splash zone didnt get anything on them.
There is so much more to this show than the tubes and it involves drums, paint, mime, observational humour, audience participation etc. As you have probably figured out it is very hard to describe - but when you see it it will all make sense.

thanks Wayne and Kenny :)- I must admit I am intrigued now!!! :thumbsup2

But I think you're right Wayne, Lucas at 3 would probably be too young - oh well something to plan for on our next trip!! (I LOVE having new things that I have to go back for!!:lmao:):thumbsup2

Amy have to say that only you will know but there is also a fair bit of "slapstick" type humour in the show that would appeal (IMO) to young kids, there is no talking so everything is visual, like others have advised have a look on youtube or the BMG website to help your decision.

I must admit that does sound like it would appeal to Kai (he's now 5 and that would be just his type of humour)!!:lmao: Although at 3, I think I might have to wait another year or so for Lucas to sit through it!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2
