Blue lagoon or blackbeard's cay?

My parents are slpurging and taking myself, dh, and dd (3y/o) on a land/sae vacation in may 2005 for my graduation from nursing school. My question is...should i opt for the blue lagoon or blackbeard's excursion? We really just want a nice family "beach day" and are not really interested in the dolphin encounter. What do you think? Also, how soon can we book shore excursions? Thanks in advance!

You cab book excursions 60 days before the trip. We went to Blue Lagoon and it was a lovely island. The main beach area is perfect for small children, the lagoon is crystal clear and shallow quite a ways out. The rest of the island is picturesque as well.

Thanks! Blue lagoon sounds lovely. I see that Blackbeard's Cay is a new excursion, has anyone been there yet?
