Is this true? On Castaway Cay? Just received it in Dreams Unlimited, December 16, e-mail. A friend is going on his first Disney Cruise and would like to know, do you swim with the dolphins or just observe them. His children are 3 & 6 and would like to swim with the dolphins. He would accompany his children in the water.

This sounds cool but it's not shown on the DCL website. Wonder if it's just that new.

It must be new.....we never heard of it before and we have been on four Disney Cruises.
Wonder where it is and how did they get the dolphins, etc?

In 9 cruises on DCL, I've never seen an dolphin thing on Castaway.

That said, my experience has been that if something says "dolphin encounter," that usually means you see them and get in the water with them, but don't really swim with them. If you are actually swimming with the dolphins, the sales flyers make a BIG point of that,

Sea WOrld has a dolphin swim at their sister park, DIscovery Cove. Within the US, dolphin programs are strictly limited to 30 minutes in the water with a trainer. Outside of the US, limits are less strict.

I got the same e-mail, but can't seem to find any information about so I just figured it may have been a misprint.

I just called Disney. The Dolphin Encounter is not offered on Castaway Cay.

It would make sense for Disney to offer this. The dolphins would only have to "work" three days a week. They could provide a beautiful, natural habitat, although I wonder where it would be? I would assume on the other side of the island where people could not get to by water. Although I am sure they would want them in a place where people could come and see them. On that note, does anyone know what Disney plans for the rest of the island?

I called Disney and was told by a bewildered CM that they hadn't received "official" confirmation of the excursion, but to call back in a few days. I asked if that meant there would be one. By that time, she had recovered from my question and just said that she was unaware of any new excursions for CC. Who knows what that means.

I thought it was an error. Listed under the wrong port.

Not sure if this is the same thing or not, but when we went on the cruise to Nassau, we did something called the Blue Lagoon dolphin encounter. Maybe it was meant for Nassua and not Castaway Cay.

Dolphins on Castaway Cay would be wonderful though. That would get my vote!!

Blue Lagoon is off of Nassau and there is a dolphin encounter offered there and thru Disney for there. Since it said specifically Blue Lagoon, I would think they meant Nassau.
