Blue Goose Trip

Wow, I go out of town for a bit and this has exploded! OK, so I am not going to revisit whatever issues made this whole thing go poof. I do have some questions to help us move forward (I hope). :thumbsup2

1. Did the master list of all those making a trip during this timeframe disappear? Do we have a final list of those who definitely are going?
Alot of changes were being made to dates, and some could go that previously couldn't and vice versa, so the list wasn't accurate anymore and was too confusing to keep up with, so its no longer there.

2. Given that this group did start large and appears to be breaking into smaller groups, is there going to be a starting/gathering point either in the morning or evening so when small groups head out to various parks everyone has the opportunity to join up? I would hate to see anyone "left behind" when they were expecting to meet new DISers and have a stress-free no-family-worries vacation. :flower3:
I believe there are no set plans for each day. We did that last year and this year everyone just wanted to wing it.
In other words if you wake up and decide you'd like to go to AK that day then you can without worrying there was someplace else you "had" to be.

With this many people going, I doubt anyone will be left behind unless they don't make an effort to make any plans at all, kwim?

3. Any particular way we are going to be able to identify each other (besides knowing that most are staying at POP)? :cool2:
Run around the parks yelling out the screen names? :confused3

kidding. ;)

Last year I had my roomie and some others waiting for me by the bus when I got to the resort. It'll work out.

Work and family prevents me from being on here and posting a lot, so I hope others who are planning on the trip are still planning on going, cuz I am! I'll need a vacation by the time this rolls around... :woohoo:
:)

Good questions. I was wondering the same.
Hi there!

Are you guys planning to meet at a certain park each day? Or are you just winging it too? Any ADRs made?

Maybe you could post a few of your schedules here so some of the ladies, especially those who are new to this years trip and have never met anyone, can hook up with you all?

Would that work? :confused3
That would help people decide where they want to be and when.

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I was going to wing it this trip. The only thing I know for sure is where I am eating my TS meals. And even that can change!

We tried touring the parks in a big group last year, but it got frustrating. Some of us liked to stop & shop (that would be me), some liked to ride some rides over & over, some wanted to tour commando style. So after a few days of trying to make everyone happy, we gave up. So we decided to go less formal this trip, maybe some of us would go to one park, some more to another, some might just hang by the pool.

We also did the group dinner thing last year too--and that really didn't work. So this year, we are splitting up for dinner as well. We have made small group ADRs only because it is impossible to get to any WDW restaurant without them.

But of course, there is always time at night to hang by the pool & chat, drink & laugh together.

And I hope that any Disser who happens to be at the World who recognizes me says hello. Please.

And there are still spots on the ADR for Boma - see page 1. I love Boma!

We did the Taste of Africa experience too, back in Dec 2005. DS16 and I were the only ones that showed up to Jiko that afternoon (great tip from here on the DIS). We had an awesome time with the chefs of Jiko and Boma -we were in Boma and taste testing before they opened for dinner and we had 3 different hummus at Jiko and chatted about the fusion style of cooking and the extensive wines. I'd do that again, too! Oh, and I tried the flights of wines - THAT is neat too.

Do they have flights of wine at Epcot? I would love to do the wine testing around the world.

Last year it seemed most people went out in small groups. You would run into groups here and there. I imagine it will be a lot like that this time. We have not planned any certain parks or a certain day or anything like that. Im not sure about the group posting with us now, they might have been better at planning out that stuff.

I think so many of us usually do all the planning for our families so during the ladies trip we were just going by the seat of ours pants or maybe at dinner the first night people will make plans for the next day and so on.

Last year no one was left out and I dont see that happening this year either.

I so know what you mean :thumbsup2 Works for me!

So any other newbies who are still going who may not have been posting lately or are tentative? Everything will be fine - come on down! Hey, I'm new, I'll be there, and I'm easy to get along with :goodvibes

Well, I'm not a Ladie's Group-er or a PMS'er, but I will be there from 11/2-11/10. First night at Pop, then over to BWV.

How will I recognize you all? Just look for the loud, drunken bunch? Oh wait...I think that might be our group!! :rotfl2:

I think last year we tried to have all of these plans, and it just got frustrating after a while trying to make it all work.

Some people like to wake up early, some like to sleep late, etc.

I think most of us are ready for a vacation too!

You can always send me a pm with your cell phone # and I will give you mine, that is how a lot of us kept in touch last year.

Thanks. :)

Any other takers? Pool, Pop, Drinks (I couldn't think of another P):rotfl:

I'm sure there will be people out by a pool almost every night.

Yep, there was a thread started by me. It was meant to be a tongue in cheek one, but unfortunatly took a turn for the worse. Good thing I put in there Ladies Meet and not Ladies Only Meet now that there are 2 distinct groups meeting at the same time. I know for a fact that our group has at least 2 very classy guys meeting up with us off and on. They don't care if some of us have never met before or have even talked much at all to them. They are (as all of us are) just looking to meet IRL people they have gotten to know here on the DIS.
I had hoped to meet some from this thread, but don't know if that will be happening now, too many are feeling unwelcome.

Hi! Are you someone who is planning on going in November? I've never seen you around before until this post.:confused3

Not sure what the guys meeting with you has to do with anything, but I hope you have a magical trip!

You mention meeting up with people IRL that you have met on the DIS, and I think that is great! I have a lot of great friends from last year's meet. But how were we supposed to meet from the DIS when you have never spoken to anyone on this thread?:confused3

I am still confused by you and few other people who have posted here the last few days about how you were hoping to meet people from this thread? There are at least 3 or 4 posters that have never posted here before. So how were we supposed to meet?

I'm not sure why many are feeling unwelcomed. The first post you have made here about this meet you say that you feel unwelcome, how could that be, no one has ever spoken to you before?? I have tried to respond to people who have posted over here in the last day or so in a nice and respectful way. I think many people have said they would love to say hi to other DISers.

It just seems strange that after LTS (who has never posted here before) made her post about the podcast, which I assume everyone is over with now and realizes it was a mistake/misunderstanding, that all of a sudden numerous ladies start posting over here about how they were coming on this trip and planning to meet up with us but had never spoken a word to any of us, knew what our plans were or how they were going to meet us.

One lady posted about how she would cancel her trip if she could but she had nonrefundable airfare, and before that post she had never posted on any of the threads. I hope she is part of the PMSer group because I could not imagine booking a trip without ever speaking to anyone else who I was meeting with, but that is my personal opinion.
