Blue Card

Does anyone know how long it take to get your blue card after closing?

I've recent just closed and I have received a packet from DVC, but it did not contain my blue card. Does anyone know how much longer it will be until I get my card?

you should have received a temporary white card (not plastic but paper) - so look again in your stuff.

that works just fine until you get your card.

if you don't know your member number just call member services and they can tell you.

if you want it for an up coming trip just tell the CM when you check in that you need a temporary Member card.

We bought in August, and finally got our blue member cards the following February, after three calls about it to MS. Other people report shorter turnaround times.

My timeline was:
08/10/05 - Closed
08/19/05 - Made it into DVC's system
09/10/05 - Received membership cards

So in my case the cards arrived one month after closing, 21 days after making it into DVC's system. Didn't make a note of when the packet arrived from DVC so don't know what the time lag is between receiving the packet and receiving the cards.

I, like LisaS, received my permanent blue membership card in about 30 days (DVC will tell you up to 90 days). Since I purchased resale I did not get a temporary membership card. I called my guide and asked him about getting a temporary id and he had one printed and sent it to me (it actually arrived the same day the permanent one arrived).

So, for a resale purchase, you won't get a temp card but you should get the blue card probably 30-60 days after you close. If you need it earlier, call your guide and ask them to send a temp card (or you can get one when you arrive at WDW by visiting the DVC office at SSR).

Did you buy direct from DVC? If so, it might take longer if they don't issue the cards until after the official closing date. So, if you signed up in April, you probably wouldn't have closed until late May or June, and then another month to get the card after closing.

yup, bought directly through DVC and paid all in cash, no financing. i inquired once about it and my DVC rep said my paperwork was in progress of closing. that was back in June. and only August did i get the closing paperwork and then my cards. it took longer than i thought. but knew it would come in at some point in time so i was just being patient.

We just purchased on 9/12. our "close" is set for 11/1. Our temp cards that they gave us our good til mid-late january. They told us we would get our blue cards around then.

Joined June 11, got my card first week in Sept.

I closed in July and still don't have my membership card. I think we closed July 1. I am calling Member Services tomorrow.
