If a car's blue book value is $9,475 but the asking price is $11,500 - what should I offer?

What blue book price? Private party or dealer? There should be two blue book prices listed. Are you assessing the condition conservatively? Depending on how you assess the condition, this also affects blue book prices. Usually private party is higher. Offer what you think its worth, but I wouldn't go above blue book as that is what the street value is supposed to be. Why overpay?
