Hello! I am going to dl in a couple months, was able to make reservations for Saturday the 26th at 3:20. I don't see us going to blue bayou again or at least in the near future. How long should I expect to wait for waterside seating? We will not be in the parks until 2 or maybe a bit after. Thanks for your help!

There is really no way to know in advance how long you'll have to wait. It will depend on the parties ahead of you, how many others have requested a waterside table, when earlier guests were seated, etc. Usually, the CMs at check-in tend to say it'll add 30 to 45 minutes to your wait time. While I don't think it tends to take an additional 45 minutes, I would be prepared for that just in case (you are going on a Saturday, which tends to be very busy in the parks).

Even if you have a reservation, when you get there and request water side they will tell u it will be around 45 minutes more. At least that's how it was a couple month ago when my girlfriend and I went.

It can depend. If you set up a reservation after the lunch rush, but before dinner (like 2:00-3:30) I've found the wait for waterside about 20 minutes. Make sure you arrive early though and make the request.

If you are going on Saturday November 26, that is Thanksgiving weekend so even though you have a reservation for a late lunch, the park/restaurant will be packed so I would allow up to 30-45 minutes for a waterside table. Since it's a request many make (and many choose off hours in hopes of being seated quickly) it will depend on the size of your party and how many parties are already waiting for a waterside table.

You will receive a pager/buzzer that will alert you when it is your turn to check-in. That way you will be able to do some shopping in the area near BB to help pass the time. We've waited anywhere from 5-30 minutes for a waterside table, depending on the reservation time and how crowded the restaurant is.

I know someone who checks in half an hour early and then the wait for waterside puts them near their actual reservation time

We did this last week. Checked in about 15-20 minutes early and requested a table by the water. We were told it would be 45 minutes and they would text us. I got the text in about 5 (yes, five) minutes. We went back and they tried to seat us in the middle and we let them know we requested by the water and were willing to wait. About another 5-10 minutes and we were by the water. Our reservation was for 2:50 and we ended up being by the water pretty close to that time. This was on a Wednesday on a "not busy" day at Disneyland. YMMV. :)

Jus curious if having a waterside table worth the wait? Is it that different then a regular table? We're going for our disneymoon the end of October and I'm willing to wait if it's really worth it but would hate to wait 45 min and not be doing stuff in the park for not much of a difference of experience.

It is! It's fairly packed in with tables, so being waterside really makes it more enjoyable....it's great either way, but waterside is what makes the experience :)

I don't think it's worth 45 minutes. 15 extra, maybe. It definitely adds to the ambience, but if you are low on park time I wouldn't spend 45 minutes waiting for it.

We have ate there three different times now. Twice as a party of 9 and once as a party of 14. Two of the three times we had water front and once we were just in the middle of the resturant. I did not ask either times we were by the river front it was just luck. Honestly, all three times it was just as nice. The river front had ambience but so did the restaurant in general. As others have said, I would wait briefly, but I wouldn't waste precious park time or be disappointed if your not right by the river. The restaurant itself is just as wonderful.

On a related note, if you're not worried about a waterside table, I would still ask be be seated either in the middle of the restaurant so as to avoid being right near the bathrooms, the entrance (during the day), or the doors to the kitchen. The tables right by the entrance are pretty bright during the day, so you won't really get the "eating in the evening near the bayou" feel (if you're going after sunset, then this isn't really an issue). Likewise, the tables near the kitchen door are pretty noisy (and again bright).

It depends how many park days you have IMO. 4-5 yes wait.

When I went for my birthday this year I had the first dinner time slot, 4:20, and arrived about 20 minutes early. I requested a water side table and was seated just a few minutes before my 4:20 time slot. It was well worth the wait! I can't imagine the experience would have been as magical if I were sat in the middle of the restaurant.

I went as a party of 9 a couple of years ago and we did not get waterside which is not a surprise given the size of our party. However in the end it felt like a bit of a letdown as really we were finally splurging and wanted to see the Pirates boats going by.
