Café Orleans is the easier restaurant to get into, anyway. I'd go there again to have a Monte Cristo. They're soooooo good!

to me the ONLY reason to go to BB is for the atmosphere...there really is noe at CO....the reason to go to CO is to get the food at a cheaper rate than BB

And I'll tell you about BB, if you want a waterside seating, you may be waiting 45 minutes to an hour, so even though we said we'd take the next available seat, we still had to wait a very long time. And we had reservations, too! It's just too crazy to deal with; I may never go back now.

I used the tip I got from one of the boards about booking the earliest lunch time. I booked 3 days before our trip and got an 11:30 time. We checked in at 11:15, we were 2nd in line, got seated 2nd right next to the water at an awesome table.

It bugs me that they are chargin almost $20 for a sandwich and then they'll charge $4 to share. Think the way to get around it is to order another item ~ garlic fries for example and then split it yourself. I think if the kitchen doesn't split it you may be OK. At least others have done this.

We ate there yesterday...had ressies for 2:10, checked in at 2:00 and requested water side seating. We were given the whole, "it will be 30-40 minutes wait then" speech and we were seated at our waterside table at 2:10, our set PS time. Happened twice last year, too. So, we have lucked out I guess with that. They give us the worst case wait, and it turns out to be nothing.

Now, on the whole "split plate charge". It was worth it for us....I had no complaints. I asked if we could get an extra salad if DH and I split that "heart-attack on a plate" and our server said no problem (and no hidden charge for it). So, we both ended up with a salad, and we each had our half of the Cristo served with a large serving of scalloped potatoes and a tiny serving of veggies. I ate only half of my half and DH was plenty done by the time he scarfed down his half. It is a whole lotta grease, so I do wonder if many can actually eat the whole thing. I figure the cost covered for the extra salad anyway.

you know the last time I went to BB...I ate the monte cristo...I love the flavors of that sandwich but with every bite I felt myself getting sick...I couldnt get away from thinking about the grease so I didnt finish mine either and as a matter of fact, I dont think I ate anything until the next day...does anybody know how the sandwiches compare between BB and CO? do they taste the same? wish I could just order a half...nobody else in my party will eat it Im sure and I hate to pay out that much money for a sandwich and not even eat it
