I just checked for reservations for Blue Bayou next Thursday 10/19 and nothing available at all. Does anyone know how likely it is that they will post an available time if somebody cancels? Or should I try calling or just walk up and put our name on a list?
I would have made reservations sooner but our travel agenda wasn't set in stone until recently. My boyfriend has never been to DLR before and I want to bring him to Blue Bayou

It's highly unlikely you'll be able to get a reservation. That weekend at DL is supposed to be incredibly busy due to most of Utah's schools being out for fall break. You can keep checking, but it'll be the luck of the draw if something is canceled at the exact moment you're looking. They don't do waiting lists, and it's unlikely they'll take walk-ups, either.

Are you staying onsite? The hotel concierges at the onsite hotels can often get reservations even when it's showing no availability to the public. That'd be your best bet.

Thanks - I'll just have to keep the reservation page open in my browser at work and periodically check throughout the day. We're staying in San Diego for the week, visiting from New Hampshire. I convinced him to do a day trip to Disneyland. It will still be a fun day without Blue Bayou but I hope we can get it!

As the PP said, I would keep checking as people's plans do change. It helps to be flexible and willing to eat at off times. DLR requires guests to cancel reservations one day in advance to avoid the no show penalty, so guests are more likely to cancel if they can't make it. I'd even check throughout the day when you're there; you never know what might open up. You can try walking-up if you don't have any luck getting a reservation, but the BB is one of the most popular locations and they don't normally take walk-ups. It doesn't hurt to try asking, but be prepared to be told no.

Thanks! Super helpful to know the 24 hour cancellation policy. Sounds like if I don't have luck beforehand, the day before might be best bet.
We are still going to have an amazing vacation regardless of if we eat there or not, but it would be nice if we can

Don't underestimate walking up and asking for a table. Plans change all the time.

I check reservations day of and see Blue Bayou pop up once in a while. I am there about once a week. So you never know! Keep checking and good luck :)

I have booked lunch at Blue Bayou the morning of before. It’s rare, but it happens. Just watch the app/website like a hawk & it’s very possible you can find something. Good luck!
